Holy christ your team was awful o.o

Mostly the Vlad and Kindred.

Ekko did decently, and Sona was alright.

I wouldn't mind if I didn't purchase half my teams wards though.

I would have replaced essence reaver with a blood thirster or mercurial scimitar since they had a lot of cc

I was running cleanse and was doing a decent job dodging their cc, so there wasn't really a need for scimitar (also I'm bad at actives).

I was also going for a more casterish build, hence the choice of Essence Reaver over Bloodthrister.

Buying Trinity can make for a good mid-game powerspike, but its slot is wasted on Graves owing to his high AD ratios. A Bloodthirster (to synergize with Essence Reaver), a Phantom Dancer (to give more attack and crit chance, synergizing with IE), an Mercurial Scimitar (for more damage and protection), or even a Black Cleaver (keeps the phage passive but gives considerable amounts of CDR to go with Essence Reaver) would have been better.

The major reason I went Tri-force was because I wanted a more casterish build.

Ya, I understand that, but you're losing out in the potency of your spells for small gains.

At level 18, Graves has 107 AD.

With Trinity Force (+30 AD from Phage), you'll be dealing 351 damage on an empowered auto, 137 otherwise, your Q will deal 202-404 damage, and your ult 595.

With a BF item (+80 AD), you'll be dealing 187 per auto, your Q will deal 240-480 damage, and your ult 670.

As mentioned, Trinity Force gives you a huge powerspike mid-game because the proc is actually like a mini-spell in itself, but since it doesn't synergize well with crit (you can't crit Trinity Force's added damage) and the difference becomes less noticeable at higher AD amounts (+214 damage every two seconds max becomes less meaningful when you have 300 AD and crit chance), it's often preferred to get a raw AD item in its stead.

Not a bad item. Just my two cents.

If you want a real caster build get lucidity boots, essence reaver, and brutalizer>ghostblade and then a last whisper. Have the 5% cdr mastery as well for the full 40%. Should also probably run some armor pen runes to really maximize the damage you get. Overall this build wont net you the sheer damage from your autos from high attack speed and more consistent critical strikes but instead will grant you immense burst damage and safety. You should be able to get off multiple dashes and Q's during fights while still dealing good damage from auto attacks. I personally think you should be buying lucidity boots and have the 5% cdr mastery from the offense tree anyway even if you want the aa focused build due to how much more efficient they are than their attack speed counterparts.

trinity force on graves isnt really strong.. a casterish build would look something like : IE, YG, cdr boots, BT, LW and a defensive item. essence reaver is garbage.

Out of curiosity, when was the last time you played Graves with TF?
