Camille dropped 4% points in winrate

invisiblecat1··82 votes·5,073 views

Yet she is still the second most banned champion It is almost like winrate doesn't matter, but the more frustrating a champion is, and the less counterplay they have, the more they are banned ######Guess that explains why Yasuo is the most banned champion

I explained Camille's Q2 to a friend who used to play League.

He laughed hysterically, then turned to me and asked if I was serious. When he saw my face he just mouthed the words, 'holy shit.'

It's almost like one of those troll champion concepts found on M&G

Did you explain her E? That's even better lol

As someone who plays a bit of Camille, her Q really is outrageously overloaded. Double auto-attack reset, movement speed steroid, single-target True damage that scales with 180% of AD... like mother of God, Darius' ULTIMATE only scales 150% with AD (and that's against targets that have 5 stacks of Hemorrhage) and Darius can only reuse that ability if he executes someone with it.

I'm just imagining Darius ulting evey 7.5 seconds with no CDR and gaining 40% increased movement speed every time he casts it. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Jesus Christ Riot you need to increase the cooldown or reduce the True damage % or something because what the fuck man... this basic ability is competing with my mains ultimate and that is not chill.

Whoever designed Camille is basically the new CertainlyT.

camille Q convert sheen damage into true damage, this is why it's broken

You forgot the unimportant fact that fully stacked Darius' ult has 600 base damage, wheras Camille's Q has... 0

It's called inertia. Riot hasn't made anything else OP for us to ban yet, so they'll keep banning Camille unless Riot makes her unplayable. This is how bans have always worked; they keep banning the same shit until something new comes along and forces them to change. That new thing has not arrived yet, although I'm willing to bet new WW does the trick.

GankedFromBehind7 votes

This.

Camille came out and suddenly we seen less Yasuo bans here, but not a crazy amount of increase in Yasuo being played.

Now that Gold/Plat are banning Malzahar, Camille evades being banned slightly more now, but still isn't picked or even dominating when she gets picked.

I rather ban bullshit like Malz and """"tank"""" Rengar than Camille atm.

Katarina.

Nobody wants to face a half-competent Katarina.

Salron6 votes

Nah she's still pretty overpowered, it's not even about frustration She shouldn't be able to convert trinity procs into true damage No champion should have something like that

Raoul5 votes

Yasuo also has a low winrate. Because these Champions are not easy to pick up, but once you are good with them, they are broken as fuck. But since they are baned all the time, most people dont get to learn them, and since they are so broken OP in good hands, some people think they can just pick them when not baned and win hard, but fail because they dont know how to abuse the champion

invisiblecat125 votes

"Low winrate" uhhhhh 51.5% is above average

You're quoting top only and most likely OP GG.

invisiblecat113 votes

I am quoting in general, and I am not using champion.gg

GULAG 4 U12 votes

What does quoting general even mean? You need a concise site, not just some made up stat.

Champion gg:

49.37% mid. 50.37% top.

50.55% according to OPGG (mid) 49.45% top.

Where do your stats come from? http://na.op.gg/champion/yasuo/statistics/mid https://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo

invisiblecat12 votes

I mean't not by role, but by all Yasuo games played

GULAG 4 U13 votes

Because (50.5+49.5)/2=51+ somehow.

Sraeg20134 votes

Why do you keep using Bronze statistics?

51.6% winrate in Bronze+ http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/yasuo/bronze 49.9% winrate in Gold+ http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/yasuo 48.7% winrate in Diamond+ http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/yasuo/diamond

Supreme Senpai693 votes

To be fair like.. what, 35% of the players are in bronze? And like, 3% in diamond? It makes sense to use bronze+silver as most players are there. But it's a bit dishonest to not say that's what you're doing when the numbers differ, especially in a discussion about the champion's balance.

Sraeg20131 votes

I've been to Bronze once.

Went 10/10 in placements first-timing support champions at mid. At which point I was placed in Gold 3.

I'm not saying there aren't good and/or knowledgeable players in Bronze, but using only Bronze statistics as a determinant of balance is plain stupid.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

If something is overbearing in bronze that doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed. It doesn't mean the champion is OP across the board, but something shouldn't be strong in bronze but weak/balanced in another mmr. Riot doesn't balance around bronze but that doesn't mean they won't nerf something if it's too strong in the lower elos.

Anyway, that's not what I was saying. I was saying it's fair to use that because he's probably in that mmr, just like the majority of the playerbase. You'd probably use the statistic relevant to you. But you should clarify that if other statistics show him at other winrates.

And uh. Good for ya for being so decent at the game, I guess.

Sraeg20131 votes

Guess I got lucky then.

From Bronze 3 to Gold 3 after just placements. This season went from Plat 5 to Silver 4 and can't even get to a promo in Silver 2.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Except bronze is also the elo where no one plays the game correctly.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

Yeah but we're not talking about that. We're talking about balance. If something has a high winrate in bronze it should be nerfed, and if that gives it low power in plat then it should get compensation buffs. If it can't be strong in plat without being overbearing in bronze, it should be kept weak until a rework because that's bad champion design.

You can't say "It's okay that x champion has a 60% winrate in bronze because they don't know how to play anyway." Then you'll get people in silver who still don't know how to play the game because they spammed what's OP, and you'll get people stuck in bronze that do know how to play the game but something OP is plaguing the ELO.

Ferus and Ferrum1 votes

It's this ridiculous mentality that gets champs like Yi/old Kat nerfed into the gutter. Even yasuo's winrate goes down the higher up you go. Even if he wasn't blatantly overpowered before this patch, the boards would forever circlejerk hate about him.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

Don't be stupid, I said nothing about Yasuo. His winrate is fine. I'm very obviously talking about just in general, hence why I didn't mention any champions. And even if I were talking about Yasuo, the point doesn't have less merit.

But people let their hate blind em to the points, and they will throw the baby out with the bath water

Ferus and Ferrum1 votes

Where did it look like I quoted you? I'm saying your process of thinking is what leads to stuff like that happening. If something has a high winrate in bronze so what? Bronze is a shitshow where literally anything works. You see so much random shit in bronze that makes the meta picks even stronger. Meanwhile stuff like Yi steamrolls bronze because the players suck and dont know how to chain cc, group, or counter him.

Bronze should never be the sole metric by which something is balanced because balance hardly matters there.

Snowman Arc2 votes

Yasuo is not OP broken. If he was, every LCS player would just play Yasuo, since they are so good. But guess what, they don't. Even at high elo streams, Yasuo is rarely picked.

Raoul2 votes

LCS Pro play is NOT at the same page as normal ranked games. In LCS, you dont have a 5v5, you have a 1v1 (team vs team) with each team being 5 players who lknow each other and how to work together, communicate and can even predict what the other one is going to do. Champions that are broken in solo or even duo queue can be absolutely useless in pro play, and champions that are broken in pro play can be useless in solo or duo queue.

IWasteEssence2 votes

I dont watch a lot LCS but I see a lot of RekSai.

I cant remember the last time i saw this champ in one of my rankeds.

Snowman Arc1 votes

Most people in lower elo don't play Reksai, because 1) she isn't much fun and 2) she is picked in LCS because of her team-oriented play. She has a global tp ulti, a vision mechanic and some good ganking potential. She needs good team coordination to take advantage of her kit, and in soloQ, that's not viable.

LostFr0st3 votes

yup, also explains why Yasuo has changes on Pbe right now to get him not to max E first.

Needs much much more then that

LostFr0st4 votes

Do you actually think that? Half or more of the damage he does early is just from stacking up his E to get the 3-stack point click dmg, at least if he maxes Q we have 7 seconds to beat him up before it comes up again.

Sraeg20131 votes

You are assuming that people will stop maxing E overnight.

Remember that maxing Q only increases the base damage and nothing more.

The problem with Camille is that she doesnt do what she's supposed to do,she's supposed to be a brusier that is good against assassins, she has a shield that protects against assassins dps, great, she has healing to sustain her in a fight, asl great,a double auto reset with true damage,no,just no,this make camille good against anyone,my question is if they wanted her to do good against assassins why give her true damage? or for that matter magic damage against tanks when she ults? that makes no damn sense, her shields and healing are fine to sustain herself against the assassins she's meant to kill but the crazy mobility lockdown on her ult and e plus the true damage makes her also good against tanks and mages

Trias0005 votes

Where does it say she was supposed to be an anti-assassin? It seems like she was designed to be a duelist.

IA9hRfpP5q3 votes

Because she can wall hop from like 5 screens away. Her weakness "Don't be near walls"

As per Riot this is her weakness LUL:

Like other champs that demand razor-sharp ability executions, Camille is noticeably less effective in the hands of an unpracticed player. Aside from her basic mechanical demands, most teamfights require you to be particularly creative with your approach—you've got to Hookshot in at the right moment (when enemy CC is down), preferably from an unexpected angle. The Steel Shadow isn't very effective as an initiator, unless she's using her ult to hold down a lone target while her team catches up.

Since Camille's shield is specifically based off of her opponent's damage type, it's far less effective in teamfights than it might otherwise be in a one-on-one duel. Locking down that exposed AD carry likely won't be enough when a fed Syndra comes storming in. AOE champs in general are tough for the Steel Shadow: she'll want to slip past enemy abilities entirely, not muscle through a wall of explosions.

TLDR ; the only way to beat Camille is for the enemy player to be inexperienced in Camille.

.|.

13900 Essence3 votes

"... right moment when enemy cc is down" or get item 3140 and murder them anyways

Dabrick016 votes

"TL;DR" my ass. You didn't even read what you posted.

They said, IN THE LITERAL NEXT PARAGRAPH,

"Since Camille's shield is specifically based off of her opponent's damage type, it's far less effective in teamfights than it might otherwise be in a one-on-one duel. Locking down that exposed AD carry likely won't be enough when a fed Syndra comes storming in. AOE champs in general are tough for the Steel Shadow: she'll want to slip past enemy abilities entirely, not muscle through a wall of explosions."

So, pick a top laner and a jg that do opposite damage, that way, one person can still do damage while her shield is active.

I went Illaoi top and my friend went Elise JG. We wrecked a Camille so hard that she couldn't even kill our support.

1v1.

If your team is even remotely smart, you will deal mixed damage as a team. In teamfights, watch when her shield comes out, if it is against your damage type, don't waste your abilities. Let your team clean her up for you while not wasting any non-CC abilities. Then, when she is EASILY bursted down, you can move onto the rest of the team.

Ultîma3 votes

I've been saying this for a while now.

Camille can be out-traded and outsustained pretty hard by some champions. Mixed-damage types and true damage also wreck her. Camille doesn't want to jump on Fiora, Darius, Illaoi, Kayle, Irelia or Jax because they will absolutely stomp her. And that's before her nerfs. Her kit is currently overtuned as opposed to overloaded like everyone likes to claim. I seriously face-palmed when I saw the thread comparing her to Azir and Kalista; she's nowhere near the design madness of those champions by a long shot.
