Bot lane has 81,600 possible matchups total.
So I had to get a little help with this math bc brain derp at 5 am hehe xd. Anyways, I used combinations to find how many matchups there are (But please do check my math if something seems off!)
So there are 17 ADCs, and 25 (or 26, but I used 25) supports. So what I did was I used (17c2)*(25c2) to find out how many you can get. the first combination found how many adc matchups you can have with JUST the adcs, and then I multiplied it by the same thing but for supports. When you do this, you send up with 81,600 matchups.
In comparison, Top lane has about 49 champions (The most of any role!). So I use 49c2 to find that top has 1,176 matchups.
I originally tried 42c4, but then I realized that messed everything up as it would account for double supports and adcs in the same team. I also do not add them together because the fundamental counting principle says to multiply.
Now there was the educational part; heres some opinion: Saying bot lane is easy because it has less matchups/champions is FALSE. You have to learn to play around 81,600 different possible lanes! Ofc, if you main or otp this number can go down quite a bit, but it will still be very large! If you play literally only one adc in bot, thats still 5,100 matchups, or if youre the support, its 2,312 matchups! So please do not call bot lane easy bc of it "having less matchups"
Thanks!
