If you had to make a Champion whose kit could involve "friendly fire", how would you make it work?

Bard, Kindred, and Taliyah can all occasionally screw over their teammates with their ultimates, but none of them can accidentally KILL their teammates directly. I'm wondering if there could ever be a mechanic that, if you used it sub-optimally/incorrectly, could cause you to become a threat to your own team.

It'll probably never happen, but humor me here.

A timed bomb with a big AoE but an even longer timer, so long that you basically don't ever expect to deal damage with the ability, you use it only as a zoning tool to force the enemy to pick the direction they need to move in to avoid it. You'd need to make it ridiculously obvious why you took damage so the allies feel more responsible for taking damage than the guy who actually cast it.

I actually quite like this one, something that is so obvious that your allies can't possibly blame you.

I don't really like the idea myself. Players really don't appreciate zoning effects as much as they should and there are a lot of champions that zone without the threat of friendly fire (any juggernaut) which allows your team to stay and take the objective instead of forcing EVERYONE to retreat.

Tahm with Devour. Trundle with Ice Pillar. Anivia with Ice wall.

Those don't kill your teammates in and of themselves, but can accidentally lead to allied deaths.

How about if Ziggs (for example) could explode enemy turrets for AoE damage that affects friendly allies but not friendly champions. So you can like push up a turret with a huge wave and then get rid of that wave so your opponent gets no gold. But if he's pushing with his team he suddenly has no minions anymore, you know?

Then people would troll and kill their own team mates. If you think feeders are bad, wait until you're playing 6 v 4

If I made a champion like that i would give them truly massive damage, have a fair amount of warning before their abilities go off, have all damaging abilities be skillshots, and only deal half damage to allies.

Maybe have something where hitting an ally causes half the damage to be dealt to enemies in an AoE if it can be fit in there without being too broken. If that doesn't work make the champion use health when casting, and have a significant portion of the health refunded if you hit an enemy but not an ally.

if you are talking actual damage the only way i could imagine would be the following

A- A blood mage who steals life from his teamates and uses it offensively against enemies, like the blood mages in dragon age

B- A bursty fire mage who does extreme ammounts of burst toward enemies at the expense of the safety of backfiring on his allies.

C- A berserker who has mechanics very simmiliar to hte berserk status we see in rpgs, but make the abilities make him do massive damage toward enemies, with the chance of turning on allies as if he was taunted when they draw to near.

Each of these seems to be about encouraging the player to put his team at risk, so a lot of times they would kill their own team mates due to an honest mistake and it would be really hard to tell an inexperienced player from a troll.

Maybe the blood mage could instead give an ally an on-hit effect that was a mix of Manamune and Olaf's Reckless Swing. Every auto attack would drain them of some health to deal a larger amount of true damage to the enemy. The ally has control over the effect's damage to them and they are getting a larger return from the health they're spending.

something that would give a buff to your teammates but they something that takes it away so it feels like you had a something taken away but you never did
