Best champion to carry mid lane in low elos?

I have noticed as I've played my promos for my first ranked season, although my mechanics are descent, I struggle getting cs early game and that makes mid/late game much harder. Especially when it seems like games don't truly get to late game, instead they end when the transition from mid to end happens. This poses a problem because the champions that shine late game with more farm and items, won't work for me for those very reasons. I've played a lot of ahri and zed, but with ahri the AA damage is so low that sometimes it is hard to last hit early, and with zed you get too much poke when moving up to cs. I really need to work on my early game, and was wondering what I can do (including a different mid champ) could help me with that problem?

Veigar you can last hit with Q optimally. I'm not sure how much damage it does, but it's more than an auto.

He also does his job very well in low elo, deleting very effectively, so even if an enemy ADC gets fed, you can still delete them. A lot of low elo players don't have the reaction time to dodge a well placed stun, or even if they do, it's very good for catching people out by placing it behind them with it's decent range so they can't run.

This will be true of any AP champion, if you want to play mid ya gotta learn how to last hit on low base damage. I do take the savagery mastery, it does help.

Talon, hardly takes any skill is super safe, can win the game solo basically with his roams, and picks. And in general assasins that just roam around the map and can pick up kills, like Katarina Akali/ Fizz. Akali is the most broken one imo, with her gunblade, she is basically ap version of master yi, just stomps poor cordination and low cc teams, and literally takes 0 skill aswell.
