Is Darius meant to be banned?

I believe so. I ban him every time i can. I main Wukong so its a bad match up if im playing top. But even if im playing JG i simply cannot trust my teammates to handle the dunk master in the lane. It seems like Darius just snowballs all game. He is a mess late game, i don't even know what to do against him. Honestly trying to carry a team with Wukong against a Darius that has not fallen behind i think is simply not very much possible. Late game you'd need like 3 people to take him down and even then there is the risk he will just dunk at least 1 of the 3 anyway.

I know trading card games such as Yu gi oh or Hearthstone have cards that are supposed to be bad. I think Darius is just one of those champions that is just supposed to be strong and therefore just deserves insta bans. Statistically he is already banned on almost half of matches.

I find him banned quite a lot at lower ranks and almost never at higher ranks. I've personally never struggled against him but if people are uncomfortable laning with him a ban is fine in my opinion.

He's a strong champion because no one can stand and fight like him. However, with the only gap closer being a short range pull and no escape, he can be out played very easily. If you're against one, pick teemo and shut him down completely with pokes and a blind. Jax also is very good against him since Darius is auto attack reliant, and Jax can dodge them, burst him down, and escape while Darius is stunned.

Darius isn't all too AA reliant. And jax's low base HP makes him prone to dunks which break through his ult resistances.

Jax into Darius is relatively bad for jax since he has no real way to deal with decimate other than try to jump in Darius's face.

Haven't lost lane to a jax in a while.

Riven Gangplank Jayce better darius counters.

I disagree. I think jaxs q can escape or engage over Darius's, and his e shut down all his other power. That gives Jax a w to still win trades where Darius has to land a pull to trade even. I think riven loses because they both deal high damage, but Darius out tanks riven

At the end of that trade jax better be able to kill darius. All his spells are on cd And darius is free to stack him hard. Also, if Darius is backstepping while jax is jumping towards him the decimate still has a high chance of landing on outer edge.

Apprehend will allow for reengage after the stun and then jax loses the trade in the prolonged fight scenario.

I tend to ban him because I have yet to find a comfortable way to lane against him.

He'll always be fed after laning against me.

Ranged champions is always good.

Also that area in the Overwatch tutorial with distance markers is over by where the bots are shooting at each other at the opposite end of the spawn area. I got a 404 error when I tried to respond to you the other day.

i mean not just ones he goes even if the player is good, but i mean legitemately good matchups. because ive not lost to a lane wukong in years.

all you have to do is rush ninja tabi, and congratulations you won the lane.

Current Darius winrate is 51.37%, which places him at #20 out of 55 top champs listed at Champion.gg. Sounds like he's not seriously OP.

Not a huge threat UNLESS you don't respect his presence. He's like Mordekaiser. Respect his presence and work around it and he isn't all that good late game. Disrespect it and suffer a huge chunk of damage from a brick wall.

Most juggernauts don't have true damage execute ults that reset on kill.

Darius is all about lane dominance and snowballing the mid game in his favor.

Do you ever wonder why he's given 200 AD at level 18 if he gets a reset or 5 stacks? Because his damage falls off if he doesn't have that, and it's about the only way to keep him relevant late game. Compared to other champions like Wukong or Malphite who can engage at long range without flash or Olaf who can't be kited when he has ult, Darius can't get to carries without flash, especially something like a Sivir or Ashe. Granted once he gets there, it's over probably.

If you look at Darius win rates, it's high early game and low late game for a reason. Biggest way to beat a Darius is to use ranged champions to fight him or someone who will just be more useful in the 5v5. Another guy asked for advice when played Darius, and I posted my thoughts on every match up I could think of. His article was titled "Darius advice". That may help some.

No champion in league is meant to be banned. He really doesn't deserve an insta-ban or even a ban really. People just hate the pressure he puts on them.

He does too much damage for how tanky he is. That is all. That said, I ban him too because he is just too strong.

My only real problem with Darius is how forgiving the heal range on his Q is (on the inner ring). There have been any number of times I've seen another champ's model appears to be right on top of his, but he would still get the heal.
