So why am I seeing Draven, Vayne, and (competent) Yasuo so damn much?

Seriously, what the hell? Draven and Vayne are both supposed to be high skill-cap champions. Ones you wouldn't exactly call common, especially at a rank as low as Silver IV. And yet not a day goes by when I see one of them in my games, and they always seem to do incredibly well.

Yasuo is a similar thing. I mean yeah with his character and kit he's typically pretty popular, but that means I should be seeing a relatively even mix of good and bad Yasuo players. And yet most of the ones I see lately tend to utterly dominate the game.

What am I missing? When did these guys suddenly become so popular and more infuriatingly, so consistent in their performance?

Draven: recently free to play, cost reduced from 6.3k to 4.8k, and Tyler1

Except the Dravens don't troll and feed the enemy team and don't have to resort to insults about mental illness in retaliation to the comments of official game staff.

The other parts make more sense though.

Tyler1's toxicity aside, he's a good player and has inspired a lot of people to pick up Draven (not all of them want to emulate his toxicity too.)

True, but just from that one comment I saw, honestly?

I'd like to see him get hit for all the shit he talks.

People learned to play them. THis isn't quantum theory, it's a video game made for children...

I have no problem seeing them so often. I have a problem with seeing them perform so well so often. That typically says something about these high skill cap champions.

They are harder to learn, not to play!!! I don't think that there are champions that are hard to play at all. You can spam Riven in custom games for 10 hours and voiala: smooth animation canceling . New Yasuo players can't concentrate on pressing R when someone gets knocked up. New Vaynes dash forward into the enemy team or miss their stun, saving the enemy instead of stunning. Old Fiora could be played by a monkey and still could score a pentakill with one button. Now you have to learn the vitals minigame and predict when to use parry.

That's true. But when high-skill champions are consistently performing well and winning in the average player base, something is wrong.

Why? They are played by spammers aka 1 trick ponies. I have in my friend list 1 Yasuo player that has like 2 million points in Yasuo and plays pretty much only Yasuo.

I am seeing Draven, Yasuo, and/or Vayne at least once a day, and they virtually always do very well. On a server with hundreds of thousands of players, such consistent performance should not be happening as low as Silver IV.

Vayne has 48 % winrate , Yasuo has 49,7 %, Draven - 49.3%. This is not overperforming... There are 4 champs with 54 %, 8 with 53 %, 15 with 52 %, 12 with 51 %. All these are above 50 %. Yas, Vayne and Draven are below 50 %.

Remember, balance is more than just winrate.

I see a lot of decent dravens. though. not a lot of decent vaynes and yasuos. at least not when they on my team. never. especially yasuo. holy shit

I'm repeatedly seeing one of those three in my games, and it's becoming increasingly frustrating to see them always doing well.

good players in silver LUL

Ha Ha Ha

Sad thing is with regards to these three champions that's part of my logic.

Sometimes people are trapped in ELO hell due to be great mechanically and awful with macro play. They chase kills, they position badly and try to out-play people, sometimes successfully. ignore dragons and barons and don't push to win etc.

SkyblazeHydraX31 votes

Perhaps, but I'm literally seeing at least one of these three every day, and they virtually always do very well. That type of consistency is troubling.

It's just a coincidence. Once, I played against 15 leblancs in a row. Then I never saw her again for a month
