Why doesn't Riven build Sheen items?

Seems like it would work nicely with her passive. Is there some reason Riven players don't buy it and get trinity after or something?

the mana is a wasted stat. So she may as well uild just damage to make better use of her passive

That's not a valid argument, otherwise akali wouldnt build either...

use to be built by yas before he got nerfed too.

The mana is an expendable stat

She scales off pure ad, so just getting maybe 100 extra damage from sheen later game is a waste when you could build like a DD

maybe, i think it's more along the lines of they just follow whoever builds what in higher elo...

Even boxbox builts triforce sometimes

But most rivens cant auto inbetween Qs tho, so maybe

I mean there MAY be certain situations (all squishies maybe) where youd build it, but too many wasted stats for my taste

Mostly because Sheen is best for individual pokes or burst. There is a long wait time between each Sheen proc that Riven simply just cannot wait for if she wants to combo. And if she combos while building triforce, she is missing out on a lot of potential damage she would have had if she built pure AD, CDR or Armor pen.

Also, it doesn't help that Riven already builds Black Cleaver, which already has all of those stats in addition to Rage for a unique passive, which wouldn't stack with Triforce.

fairly low base AD for a melee

Really high AD ratios

Passive is not gated to a 1.5 second cooldown between uses of a stack while sheen items are.

Shield would be weaker with Trinity instead of black cleaver or deaths dance.

And mana on sheen is not a good argument since champs like Akali are well known to get Lich bane or Trinity while not using mana.

She could build it, but it feels a bit wasteful since her full combo would really only use the passive once or twice. If you consider her AD scaling, lets say from a pickaxe, I think it does more damage over the duration of her combo.

Now for prolonged fighting she might be able to do more damage with it. It scales off her base attack damage though, not her full or bonus damage. She might still be better off with a Pickaxe.
