As a Gold level player, I can say that people in higher Elos have just as much trouble as Bronze, its just that their strengths are just greater than the strengths of the players in Bronze. I've had many throws in Gold and I've won many games I shouldnt have. People still throw.
I've found that people in Gold are usually good at one or two things, but nothing else. They are really good at gaining a huge lead in lane, but then they throw it cause they dont know wave management or map rotations. Or people are good at map rotations and get a huge lead midgame, but throw cause they try 1v1ing when they shouldnt (or the team attempts a 4v5 when they shouldnt). Or they make good map rotations, but bad Baron calls. I feel that if youre good at all or most of these things, you wouldnt be in Gold - you would be able to climb.
And as a Warrior fan, they didnt really "throw" a 3-1 lead. Draymond got suspended after the game 3 (Like, what? If the refs didnt find it Flagrant during the game, how do they come after the game and suspend him for that? I cant remember the last time someone got suspended in a post-game review in the playoffs, do you? But to be fair - okay, it was a dirty hit.) Bogut gets hurt - cant do anything about losing your best big, but saying you threw your lead when your starting center gets hurt isnt really accurate. (If the 30/0 Darius disconnects, its not really throwing, is it? You lost because someone is unable to play. IT has nothing to do with bad decisions or lack of effort). Then Steph gets fouled out in Game 6 - and the refs completely dropped the ball on that one. Fouls 2/5/6 were complete crap. For the second, Lebron puts a nice shove with his shoulder but then wraps his hand around Curry and brings him to the ground, but Curry gets the foul? Its not like Steph was moving when the contact occurred - by that time both his feet were planted. Foul 5 was just playoff basketball - there was more contact on the play than usual (as per general postseason basketball), but Curry got called when he hit nothing but the ball. The 6th was just stupid. The 4th was questionable - I wouldnt go as far as to say that it was a terrible call, but it had to be the smallest amount of contact for a legitimate foul in that series. (But again, to be fair, Kyrie should have shot 3 from Curry's 3rd foul, not 2 - refs dropped the ball for the Cavs too).
