Playing immobile champions is starting to feel somewhat depressing

BLIGHTBRINGER··28 votes·9,400 views

With the amount of mobility creep that exists in this game, you start to feel like you can't hit them or cast an ability fast enough before they dash out of range.

Even a Youtuber by the name of Tilterella made a video regarding this issue.

I think it is true in most occasions. A lot of the new champions and reworks are very gimmicky, some tanky with high base damage, % health damage, insane mobility and options.

Try playing Ahri Basically an immobile mage who has 3 dashes in her ultimate that she uses them to run and survive from this damage meta , but everyone thinks she is mobile and strong , while she doesn't have have the enough damage to keep up with this stupid meta , seriously I hate being forced to take Electrocute on her and other immobile mages just for free damage , wanna use her Ultimate aggressively ? yeah Go in with a dash , miss charm and use the rest of your dashes to fall back or Try Lux , honestly this champion is only good at hitting Q to root 2 enemies and let your team finish them and her W or Try Orianna , everyone will focus you and camp you for no reason while you can't even do anything

Lul, you think Ahri??? AHRI???? Is bad????

Try Syndra. She actually requires skills, has zero dashes (even in ult), and her once lane bully status is a thing of two seasons ago when her Q aka main damage does less then her auto at level one and cost a crap ton.

The other two I agree, but damn the nerve of Ahri mains lol.

Actually, for some reason Ahri is garbage in high elo. Both Shiphtur and scarra said this champ is shit tier atm.My guess would be ,she does no dmg if misses charm.

D357R0Y3R2 votes

doesn't mean she's immobile what the actual fuck

HaIlMonitor1 votes

A lot of champs are though. Outside of one tricks most champs wouldnt even be played at high level most likely. I am not saying Ahri is bonkers, but she is far from weak. Not sure why it bugs me so much, but holy shit Ahri has gotten so many buffs this season and people still think she sucks.... Like at this point I think its the players not the champ.

Also in plat+ (high elo) her average one trick is sitting at 57% winrate. That is pretty good when mains on Zed are sitting at 53%....

Ulquiorra01232 votes

Wait, you literally just said the champ is good, and as soon as you were faced with pro player opinion you swapped what you said :P

HaIlMonitor1 votes

I said the same thing, two different ways. I never said she was op, or up. I feel like she is balanced, and perfectly fine. Ahri mains just wont stop unless she has a 55% winrate then they might say she is balanced... What a joke.

Dream High4 votes

They're both garbage right now, it's not a contest. Syndra isn't that difficult to play either.

HaIlMonitor7 votes

46.8% global vs 51% global??? Mhmmm

To be fair, you have a 35% winrate on Ahri... I dont think its the champ. I am legit not trying to be rude, but some champs we are just bad at. And over 45 games, I cannot believe its her. Stop crusading over something that wont even effect you.

Dream High2 votes

You can look at last years stats while you're at it. Just because I'm saying it doesn't make it false even though I've had a terrible season with the champ. High elo players like Shipter and Scarra think she's bad as well.

HaIlMonitor1 votes

She was busted most of last year so I don't even need to look up your stats.

Dont honestly know much about Scarra, but Shiphtur is bias towards her too. I am fully convinced if she still sucks with her current stats the only thing that could be changed is a rework for her because she is already good enough.

What do you mean ? YES AHRI IS BAD , Syndra is bad too , but that doesn't mean Ahri is good , why don't you just play her ? lol or why don't you just play ranked , Lol , Ahri doesn't even have much damage in her kit , at least Syndra has.

HaIlMonitor2 votes

You are grasping for straws if you think Syndra does "Tons of damage"

https://lolalytics.com/ranked/worldwide/platinum/plus/champion/Syndra/ https://lolalytics.com/ranked/worldwide/platinum/plus/champion/Ahri/

Ahri on Average does slightly less damage. A whole 104 per game "ERMERGERD BERF MAH CHAMP"

I dont get how an almost 8% pickrate and an over 50% winrate on a champ that I guess people think is "hard", is not strong. She is smack dab in the middle where she should be so HOW IS SHE BAD?

lol or why don't you just play ranked

Nicejab. Lol, I get to gold and then play norms with friends. Why waste my time playing 258 ranked games to get that juicy 46.9% winrate when we both will have the same border anyways.

I really don't know you are trying to achieve by actually replying , you really don't have to be salty that much , I never said Ahri is bad or strong ,not even Lux or Orianna , they just can't fit in this meta very well , more like Bad if you play her in ranked at least in Gold Elo or lower , she can't keep up with most of picks in mid lane , she is good against immobile mages which aren't even played that much , Ahri , Lux , Orianna ,Syrnda ,they can be played and feel useless , I'm not saying Ahri needs buffs , you are just that type of people who tries to act cool and assume things that I never mentioned then you blame a specific group of people who main a champion , you really should stop this habit , it's not nice , Syndra has more overall damage , but due to damage being too high while she is a dps mage she can't fit in while Ahri can throw an aoe q before she dies , I never compared Ahri or Syndra , I was just talking about my problems with my champions and you popped out of nowhere , now go and continue your life , we really don't need to continue this pointless argument

HaIlMonitor1 votes

You responded to me in the first place with a pointless argument. So keep on your Ahri Crusade, but don't blame the champ.

It's all situational. Team comp is super important right now.

Immobile ADC feel really weak right now without a proper team backing them

This shit has been a trend for a while. And riot is way too reluctant at putting stuff that actively counter them. Ground effect and poppy's w to be exact. They, also, gave ground effect on singed. When there are tons of mages that their whole kit gets denied by having eyes, 340+ movement speed and basic reflexes. Like i just literally played a game, my main (xerath) vs annie. The moment annie got her boots, i couldnt even land my w. As such, no q or e. And annie is immobile. God knows how awful would have been if that annie was instead a yasuo.

Disulfiram2 votes

{quoted}

God knows how awful would have been if that annie was instead a yasuo.

In that case you could have landed your spells (Yasuo can't dodge during a dash), but it probably wouldn't have mattered because of his shield (+the regeneration from doran's) early on and because of lifesteal/sheer damage output later.

Nyarlathοtep1 votes

And how exactly would i have done that? My q has a big wind up before it fires. Yasuo's dash has almost no animation. By the time my q has fire he would have dashed to another minion. And there is no way i can predict which one.

The Space Cowboy4 votes

Um, double tap Q? Also, nobody mentioned leading with his stun to guarantee the rest of the kit lands?

Nyarlathοtep1 votes

What? It still has big wind up. The animation, one that charges and one that fires. And then there is the delay before it damages. Thats a shittons of time the enemy has to take appropriate action. Land the stun? Omegalel. The stun on its own against players that have brain. Its way too slow to hit someone unless they are on your face.

The Space Cowboy2 votes

At max range it is easy enough to side step. At half range with a little predictable behavior on my opponents end I land it every time.

Nyarlathοtep

Quit bullshitting around. I have played more games with xerath i can count. He is my most played champ. Whether you try to hit at max range, or close range, there is a bare minimum of time it takes for the damage to activate. The animation; charging wind up, the firing wind up and finally the delay before the damage. The only difference is the charging wind up. In which even if you try to double tap, you cant do it like, anivia lets say. Because there is still this "The animation; charging wind up, the firing wind up and finally the delay before the damage" which buys the enemy enough time to react.

The Space Cowboy2 votes

Double tapping is pretty fast. Less than 1 second. Use minion block for guaranteed damage.

Nyarlathοtep

Are you shitting me? Reacting faster than 1 sec is the norm you know. Especially if you play lol for seasons.

The Space Cowboy1 votes

It’s a wide skill shot. Humans take less than a second to react but the champ has to walk too. I have no problems landing his q so I think it’s you buddy. It’s a really good ability.

Nyarlathοtep

No its not wide. I too have not problems landing my q on not slowed targets. But these are usually very bad players because they dont even make an attempt to dodge it. Aka they are very bad players. And i never said its a bad ability. Its a difficult ability to land on players that have basic reflexes and 340+ movement speed.

The Space Cowboy1 votes

Jinx Nidalee have narrow hit boxes. Xerath q is like 6 of those hit boxes wide.

Nyarlathοtep

Maybe because they have different purposes as abilities? Those two hit a single target. They are intended to hit a single target, sometimes through minions. Xerath's q is made to hit multiple targets. But, thanks to the crosshair and its collision, the enemy has enough time to react.

The Space Cowboy1 votes

You can also change angles while winding up. My point is the skill is easy to land and you suck lol.

Nyarlathοtep

Change angles? Wait what? Are you even serious now? Do you even know the meaning of angle?

Oh btw, i almost forgot it, you dont want to start a "you suck" argument because you are going to lose it for obvious reasons, dear bronze 1. You are welcome to start using them when you reach at least plat 5 - gold 1 by playing almost exclusively xerath.

A lot of mobile champs pack a really big punch. (I think you can agree) while mobile Champs have to use there mobility to survive

That video wasn't even exciting to watch, its too common place, and I felt bad for those immobile champs playing against that shit. Dat Rakan game where he just clapped them as "support"

The Space Cowboy1 votes

take your immobile champ to APC/Bruiser bot! Having a support helps!

Shake Shaco1 votes

say good bye to mord, nunu, sion, rumble, and every champ without a dash :(

PokladnicaZla1 votes

I don't really have a problem with us having the amount of mobility in the game,as the game evolves certain mechanics are going to become more common than they used to be ( Mobility, true damage, Charm as added on Rakan and on Eve) ,but it feels like those champions who have mobility don't pay for it with damage. If Akali's supposed to hyper mobile, fine.Just keep in mind that the mobility with the new shroud should have a tool on her damage output.

Praetor Notorias1 votes

Mobility creep is why they gave Anivia's wall vision back in the day cause it was literally all they could think of. They removed the vision when they did the mage rework. So now mobility creep is at it again and true damage REALLY stings.

Hypermobile tops and jungles that are really fed are the only issue I'm having on her now though. And none of that is within my control. I can't stop the jungle from feeding them with terrible ganks so realistically mobility creep isn't the problem. It's people not knowing how to play as a team.

Ifneth1 votes

Virtually every non-juggernaut melee champion in the game must have a dash, or at least a haste, to reach their opponents. Top and Jungle champions are usually melee, and half of Mid and Support champs are, too. Therefore, whenever Riot releases a new champion that isn’t an immobile Mage, immobile Marksman, or Juggernaut, ‘mobility’ is added to the game.

There’s nothing to complain about.
