A guide to playing the Soulforged: Bot lane Mordekaiser with Aery and Spellthieves' Ege
Gather around children, for yet another tale out of the Book of Heavy Metal. 'Tis yet another adventure of the Master of Metal Mordekaiser in the strange land known as Bottom Lane.
But unlike the previous tale of Bot lane Morde with Smite and Unsealed Spellbook I am going to spread the word of a far more consistent build that, once mastered, will allow you to destroy the opposition and make the enemy quiver in fear!
So buckle up as I show you how to play Botlane Carry Mordekaiser with Summon Aery and Spellthieve's Edge!

Since not everyone's familiar with Mordekaiser as a champion, here's Mordekaiser's strength/weakness profile:
Mordekaiser Role in a team: Damage Carry Damage type: Magic Damage Important stats: AP, Magic Penetration, AD, Survivability Max Order: R>W>Q>E
+Extreme damage throughout the game if itemizing well +Durable even when built with primarily offensive items +Deceptively tanky and can easily turn a losing fight into a win +Versatile build path +Snowballs extremely hard +6v4 +Dragon
-Relies on his team to enable him, but just with a little help he can 2v5 easily -No CC outside of item purchases -Relies heavily on Positioning -Somewhat immobile -Macro game intensive -Effective range is somewhat low (200-600ish range)
Now unto some of Morde's favorite items:
Morde's favorite starting item. It gives him a lot of early wave clear and damage while also making his potions stronger so that he survives bot lane more easily. Plus when he snowballs it provides him with a ton of AP through stacks.
THE best Damage item for Morde, he has insane dual scalings and the slow+damage active synergizes well with his kit. The spellvamp makes him really durable too
+
Mordekaiser loves early penetration since his durability scales off his damage output and his base damages are high, making him get tankier and hurt like a truck with just these two items
The only real defensive item I am currently building. The shield gives Morde enough time to heal up and survive whatever's thrown at him, if he doesn't pop instantly he can just turn the tides of war rather easily. The Base ad increase is great too since Morde has disgustingly high base AD and has ridiculous total AD scalings
Morde deals primarily magic damage and this item makes it so his damage output doesn't fall off. A necessity against tanky opponents
Same as above, it also has a great synergy with Morde's R DoT since it lasts 10 seconds
Morde loves this item too. It has great synergy with Steraks and gives Morde strong late game DPS
And then there is
->
But why is this item good on Morde?
Well, it's because it synergizes well with the playstyle I'm currently using in bot lane and offers a lot of utility to a champion who lacks CC and mobility.
It gives him stronger gold generation and Morde wants to get his powerspikes ASAP while also giving him more Poke in bot lane with Summon Aery, the Tribute passive and his E. But here's the kicker
Once you finish the questline it provides Morde with a 50% HASTE when hitting enemy champions, making him actually really mobile. Couple that with Gunblade and FQC's slows and you get a Juggernaut that WILL run you down and destroy you even without his support to enable him.
#Babymetal might be cute, but Summon Aery is more Metal than they'll ever be!

While I do run Phase Rush in solo lanes, Summon Aery is THE duo lane keystone! The more selfish uses for the mastery is that it gives Morde a lot more poke and also makes his ultimate hurt more with continuous Aery procs, allowing him to hit the enemy upwards of FOUR times if managed correctly!
But what's even better is the utility it gives Morde and his SUPPORT! Morde can provide his ally with low CD shields and they really add up! https://i.gyazo.com/a7e2f9f1246c53c4807854af2f59d53f.png
Morde's W in itself can proc it up to 3 times with the ability coded as a "Buff" and continuously applying Aery to his support-
This gives Mordekaiser and his Support a lot more 2v2 power and allows him to keep his Slave...erm...Ally alive longer to provide the CC and Frontline he needs!
So, if you want to spread the word of Metal to those heathens in botlane look no further than Mordekaiser. He is THE champion to singlehandedly win a game with just a little practice and some team coordination. He's a TON of fun, especially with friends who'll call you a KDA whore and always roll their eyes at you backing with 3k+ Gold!
I highly recommend to try him out, grab a friend if you have one, and bring "Great Suffering"(tm) to your foes!
Also, seeing that I'll be sticking around for a while consider this a little **AMA **too, I'll gladly help ya out if you got questions regarding Mordekaiser!
