Kayle ADC

Now that she goes perma ranged at level 6, I think there's room for a bot combo of

Kayle /w item 3302 & Sona Karma /w item 3303

as our our start.

Advantages: You can pick up farm pre 6 and harass and sustain with dual heals and poke. JUST PLAY SAFE. Post 6 you can one of the best ults in the game, have decent sustain and poke and can trade again!

Disadvantages: Very easy to all in, if the lanes gets frozen on you you're screwed without a hard jungle gank or something to reset.

Thoughts?

i think it could be a niche combo for some match ups.

I can't see this work into picks with good engage, they can just run you down or zone you even out of exp range as soon as they hit level 2

nah players are to bad to zone you or kill you really just try it im going too

Kayle is a hypercarry now so it really depends if you can get to teamfights without feeding. You'd probably need a ton of jungle attention early.

Now??? She was always one, even pre-rework. Currently, she feels more like a carry but not a hypercarry. The changes they just did still don't feel right.

Works in gold and below.

Anyone else will destroy it though.

Her ranged execute only functions as that, meaning she basically needs a mage support to 1v2 the lane for you.

oh no trust me, d4 and below anything can happen

I mean Garen Yummi works in pro soooooo lol.

Yes, pro is a different beast though and no one here likes to talk about pro.

Solo Queue Kayle bot won’t work. What do you do when the hookers walk up to your minion line and you can’t harass them besides a single Q+E? What do you do when Sona/Nami/Janna poke you every time you go to CS without your E up? What do you do when your ally Alistar combos the enemy ADC and you have one ranged attack, or when your W stops 150 units after hitting a minion?

To make it work, you need a support to basically 1v2 the lane for you while you last hit kills for gold, and at that point, you’re better off playing any other marksman or mage.

By the time you get your ranged form, the enemy ADC will have a BF sword while Kayle will be sitting on a Chapter, Recurve, or Stinger + Tome, which do not do the same DPS.

She cannot lane bot, at all. Wins will be flukes or enemies not knowing how to abuse her glaring early weakness.

I disagree. it would be no different than Kayle top. You play safe, and farm till you have your range form. Which you now get at lvl 6, which isn't to far into the game. And since you have to play safe that means the opponents will be forced to push it into your tower early, allowing you chances to freeze and just farm, and giving your jungler opportunists to gank.

Yes its a different play style than most are used to, and no its probably not OP, but it could very well work.

Sewer Side1 votes

You can disagree, bot is a different thing than top. There’s a reason why melees have never been ran bot (one exemption was Morde) before.

I’ve also tried it during patch 9.17, you have zero agency in a role with low agency to begin with.

Level 6 is long enough for ADCs to have a BF sword and a dagger at minimum, which means an ADC is dealing more damage than you in autos well before Kayle is returning back to them.

Unless you play against the world’s most passive botlane, you will never break even with a competent bot. Ever.

Like I said, it's possible. It's a strat that will take time to learn. But could be good if you did it right.

I forgot to mention the build I'm working with;

Lethal Tempo or Fleet

Triumph

Alacrity

CutDown

Resolve: Demolish/Bone Plating -or- Inspiration: Magic Boots/Timewarp Tonic

Build;

item 3508 > item 3006 > item 3085 > item 3031 CORE

You want Essence soon so you always have access to your abilities. Q and ult are super important to always be able to cast. You run out of mana FAST as bot Kayle and this helps alot. Her AD over all is a bit weak, so the crits make up for it combined with increased attack speed. Basic making of a crit build here, but also flat AD for consistent auto attacks. Hurricane blends insanely well with your waves at level 11.

Situation/Finished build; item 3111 / item 3047 Never be afraid to build for the situation. Assess, and act.

item 3087 Awesome for fast pushing and some extra burst, finishes off crit build nicely

item 3153 Buy vs tanks. Combined with Cutdown it shreds. Can lifesteal off minions and monsters decently as item 3072 imo

item 3124 This item is great when your enemy has a mixed defense. Combined with Blade and the core build above it melts enemeies tagged by your Q further.

item 3036 / item 3033 For when the shred on your Q simply is not enough, buy to compensate for flat defenses or stubborn sustain healing.

item 3095 if your Keystone is Fleet Footwork this synergizes nicely with Shiv and that keystone in addition to base AD and great attack speed

item 3026 Allows you to save ult for someone else and win that one team fight where enemy all ins your back line. On Kayle this item can turn any fight around.

item 3091 If you're facing annoying AP opposition, this item will synergize without gimping your base AD too hard.

item 3139 A fantastic alternative to Wit's End in that you can escape an all-in by the enemy. Amazing when facing Mordekaiser, but then again you're a fed Kayle and should be able to kite him even within his ult mwahahahah.

Super noob here, but these are the mental problems I have with this:

  1. Kayle needs xp as quickly as possible so she can hit the 6/11/16 breakpoints.
  2. Kayle is heavily gold intensive. If you're upgrading the relic shield at all you're delaying your core items.
  3. Bot lane tends to be a harass heavy environment, if not a flat out brawl, so you're relying a lot on your support to carry you through this period. Most enchanters struggle with mp early, and you're putting extra load on them. If I was the support I cringe when I think going up against a Jhin/cait + brand/vel lane.
  4. By the time Kayle comes online the game will often be decided.

I mean with how bad people I play with are at ending game you may hit that hypercarry status every game, but the better they get at closing the game the worse this seems.

I feel bot lane with a support is safer than top where you mostly end 2v1 with all those early pressure jungle thanks to overloaded damage meta. I played it a couple of time and it was fairly smooth.

Yummi with kayle, then u got a duo bot.

I've tried it....

Sounds atrocious, no offense. Any ranged ADC that is weak early can get absolutely abused to hell and back by lane bullies in the bot lane. But even then, with longer auto attack range, you can manage to grab some cs here and there. Now imagine you're melee for the first 6 levels, so you can get zoned out even harder, making it take even longer for you to get ranged. Not only that, but you have another champion soaking xp. In addition to xp problems, you'll also be lacking items, which Kayle is sorely in need of as well. Pretty sure Kayle's base stats are horribly bad as well.

Might work somewhat in Silver, but anything above that, the game will be a 3v5 for your team. Gold players make a lot of mistakes and are pretty ignorant, but they're smart enough to understand how pathetically weak Kayle early and would definitely be able to capitalize on that.

So in this game I played it very safe with a poke Support. I was able to snag easy gold via Relic charges and my Q/E and our lane sustain with my heal made us very safe, even vs a Kaisa/Pyke combo with Press the Attack! We managed to win lane despite some nasty engages by Kaisa and Pyke, and after 6 there was very little they could do because as long as I held my ult, Pyke couldn't use his.

At 6 I backed with a kill/assist, and sold relic to buy my first BF and a dagger. By the time we won lane I had Essence Reaver and WAY less mana issues as expected.

After laning phase I made a bad call and decided to try and split push, you can see it on the map deaths, which was a very bad plan. I ended up grouping with team after a few bad deaths and did much better. Got dived on a lot by Pantheon and sniped by Heimer but I saved ult for my initiators and bought Grievous Wounds to better counter any sustain Pantheon had and we closed out the game fairly strong.

As long as I grouped our team fight was always stronger. Whoever they focused I generally ulted and since they had some burst heavy champions, they'd blow their loads and gain very little then have to take our sustained damage.

I highly recommend the following supports still;

Lux Sona Karma

These 3 are ranged, harass very safely, provide insane buffs, and can carry you into level 6.

I'm sure if we had been fighting an early game adc like Draven or Cait we would've had much more trouble, but this really worked out.
