Making Nidalee a Jungler is the best idea RITO has had in a long time

After nerfing a whole load of assassins, Riot did something smart. Nidalee, a champion who thematically fit in the jungle role was made to be more of an Ap assassin, or an Ad split pusher, which targeted solo lanes. Currently, the only (somewhat viable) junglers that are Ap are Amumu, Cho'Gath, Diana, Fiddlesticks, and (possibly) Fizz (although not very likely). (I salute you fellow Dongers). Adding another viable Ap jungler to a bruiser dominant position is a great idea.

I agree that she's healthy, but.. she needs nerfs. http://champion.gg/champion/Nidalee/Jungle

Its understandable, but I think thematically they'll make her a (viable) jungler. If the nerf affects anything besides her passive then its uncalled for. Maybe decrease the hunt bonus on Monsters by 50% or so or put a capped amount of damage.

I also looked at the page that you linked too, her pick rate is only 2.97%, you should expect that an underplayed champ could have a high win rate. Rek'sai is a great counter to Nidalee, and Nidalee's dueling potential requires you to land your spear, making her weak to champs like Lee and Jarvan.

The SK game the enemy jungler was way too focused on getting the red buff, resulting in Elise dying, she could have just forfeited the buff after realizing that its better to give the buff over then also giving a kill with it. That isn't a case where Nidalee was Op its just that, poor decision making mas made.

Yeah but that means we have to deal with spears coming from literally nowhere

Those spears are pretty hard to land and it took skill to get in a position to land a blind spear. I understand how there is a lack of counterplay after getting hit, however there are a few things in your power,

  • Warding to prevent blind spears and invades
  • Making your jungle route unpredictable

Nidalee jungle is great at CJ however if you are playing fiddle (who'd normally start gromp/blue side) can begin krug/red side to throw off the enemy jungler.

She's overtuned right now though.

That's understandable but even if they nerf her passive (reducing numbers), it doesn't mean she won't have jungler capabilities. She has a hard mid game and invading early is always a risk and ganks have no CC. She's gated by mana, requires items so if you lose the early game then you need to wait a long time in order to get your power spikes.

I don't think she's completely fair as a jungler with spears from fog completely screwing you over. But I am glad she's anywhere but top.

Her spears were not buffed against champions... Its the same case as there was before... The only thing they buffed is the Hunt working against neutral monsters

sigh* rant is done

I disregarded everything u said after you called Diana a viable jungler. Her clear speedy and sustain is amazing but her gank potiental pre-6 is 0. Even after six it really on a tricky skill shot.

But she has the capability of a jungler, I play Diana, I know, its like WW, no gank pre-6. Diana is a mid-late game champion to make up for having no gank pressure. She can still gank theoretically with her E but the enemy jungler has to be very far out of position . I personally don't believe its a hard skillshot, when you think about you have hit range than a straight projectile making it easier to hit. I've seen diamond jungle diana's, so it is certainly viable

Incoming "oops we did not expect this" Nidalee nerfs soon lol. Typical balance team.

I don't think they'd remove the Hunt mechanic on monsters, just decrease the Hunt bonuses and she's fine. I believe they would not have made this change with keeping in mind affects on the Jungle.
