Since Ap magewick got horribly nerfed from the removal of dfg

Can Warwick gain an Ap ratio on his ult?

It wouldn't be gamebreaking

It would just allow me not to rush Nashor's

If DFGaren doesn't get compensation, magewick doesn't either.

You don't want "compensation" Veigar

Poppy Poppy wants a higher ap ratio due to the removal of dfg.

NO. HELL NO.

DFG removal was a significant nerf to AP Poppy, since "Everything is viable on Poppy"—Phreak, EU Challenger series fall 2014.

Warwick is not supposed to be AP

I like a lot exotics builds and playstyle but you shouldn't dream, exotics ones will never get changes for the simple reason that they are just EXOTICS and not supposed to be the main playstyle.

His recommended build is AP lol

Blue Collar Bear2 votes

If he was not supposed to build AP, why have any ap ratios on him at all?

So he could buy item 3078 item 3025 and get something from the AP, also baron buff, also magewick is cancer, his sustain is balanced for AD not the 1.0 AP ratio spam nuke to heal you.

Blue Collar Bear5 votes

Then, why would a small AP ratio on his ultimate be that bad? It just means that a stat isn't completely wasted.

Because it already scales off enough things, it scales off AD, On-hits, Magic Pen, every level (w/his passive), and benefits from lifesteal & CDR.

It doesn't need more scaling.

Champion Skin3 votes

It is like auto attacks which scales with AD, attack speed, Crit, Armor pen, On-Hits, Lifesteal... we should remove some of the scaling on auto attacks they scale with too much stuff....

COWmanLord1 votes

Except your auto attacks don't stop a person from moving or attacking unless and simultaneously heal you and let you deal damage unless they build a specific item or someone else stops the ult.

Champion Skin1 votes

Except that auto attacks doesn't prevent the user/caster (warwick) from moving either and they don't have a long cooldown and can almost be used at any time And auto attacks deal all of their damage instantly and it doesn't require a channel to finish like Warwick ult does

Because that's how you balance things sometimes. Similarly to Trist's old kit that had nothing but AP, Tryn's E and Q still have AP ratios, Hecarim's W and R have AP ratios, Varus's W and R have AP ratios... I can keep going if you'd like about all the champs with AP ratios on AD champions that would be utterly broken if they were AD instead. It's to give these champions the ability to increase their overall damage output when they get Baron without completely making them broken or to open up the ability of grabbing a TrinityPhreak, or other thing that gives AP. Like Sona's old Q and Taric's ult. :3

Blue Collar Bear5 votes

I don't think an AP ratio on his ultimate would be that bad, and it would open up more variability in builds.

On an off topic, does his passive on-hit magic damage count as spell damage?

FantasySniper2 votes

Don't think so. Otherwise, people would be building him like Teemo.

Blue Collar Bear2 votes

I would, I would...

Please don't get him ... 'compensated'.

I wouldn't mind that, It wouldn't be insanely op. As long as it was a really low AP ratio, like starting out .05 up to .15 (since it stacks three times) but really even that might be too much. idk

Agreed

I've been asking for AP ww buffs since dfg was removed...

blueberrypancake1 votes

Well this is your shot ;)

I play ap warwick all the time. Before and after Dfg, I never got dfg on him. Just going item 1076 item 1076 item 1001 item 3089 is good enough for your first items, gives you decent mana sustain in lane and huge burst/heals with Q. After that I usually finish boots or instantly go into a item 3115 oritem 3100. Eventually getting both items. Nashors gives the AP ratio to your ultimate and lich bane procs instantly on first attack with your ultimate. With those 3 items its pretty easy to 100 to 0 anyone in my experience.

Basically im saying DFG was never needed and still isn't.

Decrous1 votes

Also to note, just the Deathcap gives me easy 1v1 potential. Auto a couple times, q after you've taken damage, ult, q when ults over. With an summoner 14 somewhere in there. I usually play Ap warwick in top lane as well.

RoyaiChaos2 votes

No. It was never fun being two shotted by magewick. He should have never existed.

OperationDEEZ12 votes

AP Warwick can still heal upwards of 900 with a Q (Spirit visage), AP WW is fine, the ult should just be used for a gapclose.

not to

I don't think this is what you meant :P

Bârd1 votes

Oh, he got compensated before they removed DFG!

Remember? When they essentially removed the damage on his ult? Its keeping with the theme of Veigar.

Zair Umbras1 votes

Only if MF can get an AD ratio on the physical part of her ultimate.

Sukishoo1 votes

I never built DFG on him, I basically built him tank but with more AP items.

WarlockLaw1 votes

or we could rove his ap ratios and give him a buff else where

Autrah Fang1 votes

didnt realize people got DFG on magewick... always built magewick without it tbh.. so its removal doesnt change anything for me :l

crunchymunchys1 votes

I don't think ww needs any help after DFG (honestly that item was a crutch more than anything skillful). I still play him as ap and will still do good with him because my build never focused on being DFG focused and it never will. WW scales so good with magic pen and spellvamp (gunblade is too good to pass up considering how hard his ulti scales on AD). when the sky always has stars at night, and you goto into a city do the stars disappear because you can't see them anymore? Same goes to how you build ap ww, if you can't figure a build out, you clearly aren't thinking deep enough about how the abilities interact with everything.

But his passive does need something more, same with gp's who does litterly zero damage late game (im not kidding his passive can't hurt you)

Dayblazer1 votes

Magewick doesnt need buffs at all. He's still solid AP, and anyone building DFG on ap warwick was bad i the first place.

Impish Yordle1 votes

item 3020 item 3089 item 3100 item 3115 item 3146 item 3157 work just fine with me. Q followed by Lich Bane proc basically assassinates most squishies. Sometimes item 3001 is also a good option considering that none of Warwick's magic damage can be inflicted outside of its aura anyway.
