There's no reason other champions should be doing more damage than ADCs late-game
That's their niché.
Especially hypercarries and APCs like Ryze/Cassiopeia/Azir who are DPS machines.

no.
their niche is ranged, sustained damage, which makes them reliable as carries since they can use their high threat range to always attack some target in a fight. being ranged carries and having high target access in itself is their niche.
other types of carries should still scale as well into lategame in terms of damage.

even
against the villain, and especially in general on a crit build.
i mean you still aknowledged apc like
.
you just seem to have the misconception that just because a champion is melee, he shouldnt be able to scale into lategame, which makes 0 fucking sense.
So then if ADCs, in general, are not supposed to be the strongest late game, but then they also aren't allowed to have strong early games because "they deal ranged auto damage", but they also aren't allowed to be strong mid game because that's when mages and bruisers are supposed to be strongest:
When the hell do I get to play my champion and not be a detriment to my team?

not the strongest =/= not strong
most marksmen are just the same as nasus, or veigar. they start weak and scale up to be really strong. but there is no reason theyre stronger than other, similar scaling lategame carries at that point.
but thats exactly what op is demanding. he wants them to be THE strongest, which is completely retarded and there is no reason for that.
you also have to factor in the power budget of their range. melee carries have the same job that marksmen have, but are restricted to melee range. that means they have less opportunity than marksmen to apply their dps potential (which is my argument of reliability of marksmen), than ranged carries. in return theyre often awarded with higher dps potential for the windows in which they are able to fight their opponents.
a
or
should always have a higher dps potential than a marksman on even gold, so theyre able to fight the marksman and win when they make it into melee range. getting on top of the marksman is their win conditon. the marksmans win condition is to not let that happen.
Especially if the boards are dead set on having hyper carry ADCs have literally one of the worst early games. If you're going to make a class awful in the early game, they should literally have the best late game with no equals.
???
Fiora is a kind of hypercarry, and that means she should have total damage on-par or exceeding the average ADC late-game (although she might lose out early on due to ranged poke).
Camille also is.
Zoe is a burst mage. While she should have very high damage late-game, her total damage done in a teamfight should be lower than an ADC's, because she wipes out one target then is kinda out of the picture for a bit. An ADC, on the other hand, is continually dealing damage, and should actually deal more damage during Zoe's E's cooldown (as it's the primary spell she NEEDS to get a kill) than Zoe did with her E and Q. Otherwise, Zoe is actually dealing the same DPS as the ADC is, which is actually a problem, as a burst mage should have higher instantaneous damage while lower total damage.
Gangplank..It depends. Is he going for a one-shot build, or an actual DPS kind of build? If it's one-shot, refer to Zoe. If it's a DPS build, then he should have the same damage as an ADC (actually, a bit exceeding, because of AoE)
The same is true of ADCs who are burst-oriented. Miss Fortune should follow the same path as Gangplank - If it's a burst build, she should do less total (unless she has constant on-point ults, because that's massive AoE damage), but if it's a DPS build she should do total damage matching other ADCs.
