I mean really, is this really that foreign of a concept to understand?
I would rather not have to rank up, then immediately get demoted by losing 1-2 games afterwards. Just give us at LEAST 1 lp upon going into another division, that way we have to go down to zero before we lose more and get demoted.
I see literally zero drawbacks to this.. I don't see why you would be hindering the player from ranking up, when that should be encouraged?
DarthSpectrum1 votesYou can't get demoted by losing 1-2 games at 0 LP under normal circumstances. Despite all the flaws of the ranked system, Riot did implement a rule where you cannot fall down a rank immediately after achieving your current rank. Either you had erratic win/lose streaks and your MMR was not at an appropriate level when you ranked up, or you got carried and your MMR was far below the standard.
From experience, you have to lose 3 to 5 games before you get demoted at 0 LP. Technically, everyone already starts above "zero" LP since it is possible to theoretically get negative LP, which is why you don't get demoted immediately after losing 1 or 2 games.
