I figured out how to make Aatrox not dog shit!
This is the build; 
4th and 5th item by game needs;
Typically run Conqueror / Domination, but also works well with Grasp / Domination
Seriously, Aatrox feels like a wet noodle starting just before the 14 minute mark. You're going to die in 1 second regardless if you build the Bruiser/Jugg build, so why not actually be useful?
