Some love for Sion to go along with nerfs

Since Sion's shield is getting nerfed really hard, he will probably be dying more. As such, it would be nice if his passive was made not-useless. Here is one possibility:

Kills and assists of targets damaged by Sion within the last 2 seconds while under Glory in Death:

  1. reset the rate of Sion's life loss back to initial-death rates
  2. reset the cooldown of Death Surge

This would make his passive really scary instead of a minor nuisance.

I like this idea, it enforces that the enemy has to deal with him all over again, which is excellent, and could make it feel much better to play as him.

Haha, basically what you're saying is his passive makes him become Master Yi. But I like it.

I don't think you've seen the monster that is, and was AD Sion. Especially before they removed Atma's. The scaling on his Q is amazing people just seem to level their E first for who knows what reason.

Apparently people are maxing Q now, but it's probably because it's so easy to dodge/cc/literally just walk away from.

Q scaling looks good on paper, but it's weak when uncharged and in the time it takes to get fully charged (1.5 s), you might as well have thrown two auto-attacks for an even better AD ratio.

Base damage is nevertheless terrific.

more range. safer harass. it used to do more damage and it doesnt require a channel - now, you need like a 1 second channel to match the damage. before the nerf you needed almost a full channel, depending on how much AD you had.

They level E because it was so spammable back then.

It wasn't though, because I can point out a weeks worth of games where I abused it.

Because he is not too strong atm?

Usually resets are characteristic of assassin-type champions.

That being said, if he has no kill potential in his passive, it is sort of useless.

I think just the reset would be fine OR the rate of life-loss reset, but not both. Sion shouldn't have to feel like he has to die to do more damage...

I like those two ideas a lot.

May also help to give him extra Tenacity, Slow Resistance, or flat movement speed while it's active too. Or even allow him to use Summoners while he's raging.

Maybe have Death Surge remove disables on cast?

I would probably say no to the use of summoners. Sion would basically become a massive Objective Harrier, if he has smite while wailing on Dragon/baron.

The biggest problem with his passive is that it's kinda item dependent, though you can still use items during your passive. He need a slow. Randuin's could work, but your probably wouldn't get that over a Frozen Heart, as your major Armor Item. Righteous glory could work, though normally you wouldn't need the engage tool. If your willing to sacrifice a little bit of defense, you could get a Frozen Mallet.

I love Glory on Sion. It gives follow up engage.

Ult in, and use Glory to chase runners. Or use Glory to flee, or use it when your ult wouldn't be good, like in the jungle.

Well... nerfs are nerfs... I don't think Riot want him to remain at the same power level...

This actually seems interesting. I really dislike his passive as it is. It pretty much sucks ass. Only idiots stick around Sion while he is raging. Speaking of rage, why not tack on the Rage ability? Would that be too much?

Nebuul1 votes

I thought about having a rage-type ability, but I think it is more fitting to give him access to another speed boost like an adrenaline rush every time he kills someone. It would be really imbalanced to have both the reset and a rage effect.

Yea sounds cool. I dislike when riot just nerfs like crazy without any buffs to compensate.

Like ryze, they nerfed Q a lot, then put it back up. Now the rework. Like what are they thinking.
