@Meddler, Questions regarding Riven and lethality buffs

With Lethality being buffed and several of Riven's laning counters getting nerfed. I am a bit concerned. The last thing I want is Riven to become too strong. I doubt she will, but if she does I am concerned about where she will be taken. The boards have a lot of very radical suggestions regarding Riven. I think if she ends up too strong potential Q ratio nerfs and maybe Q-E cooldown nerfs would bring her in line.

But many players disliking the champion I love, and not fully informed on how she functions, would rather see her mechanics and design torn to shreds. Riven has been in a mostly healthy spot for a while now. She had some ups and downs over the past year but mostly was stable. If Riven does end up too strong after this patch. What would you look at first regarding nerfs for her? And what is your general opinion on Riven's health in the game?

I know a lot of people only want to hear about unpopular or weak champions. But I would love some insight and peace of mind regarding my beloved rovinlcsbigplay420pentakillboxb... I mean Riven.

Ideally, I'd like to see Q have a much shorter time to be used.

Other champions have to use their spells or lose them. I see no reason Riven should be able to have a lower cooldown for holding onto hers.

This would give Riven more windows of weakness as she couldn't perma-cycle her Q once she hits 40% cdr. It might need some laning compensations however. As it is a large last hitting and trading tool.

Riven doesn't exactly need compensation for her laning phase.

Are you aware Riven in about half of matchups allows several waves to waste as she cannot effectively trade with them due to her low HP regen and lack of sustain? And I am not talking bad Riven's. They either all in and get lucky or all in and die. Good Riven's like Adrian, Boxbox, TheShy, Viper, Exil, etc. It is actually standard to play her this way. Watch some of their games into neutral or negative matchups. Not highlights of their best plays either, just games. Highlight videos really aren't a good place to learn about a champion.

I feel a longer Q cooldown would be more ideal than that. But I wouldn't commit sudoku or anything over that.
