"The sauce is too thin so instead of adding flour/starch to thicken it. We are going to make the pasta and meat REALLY dry in hopes it will compensate!"

"Oh? The broccoli is undercooked? Let's burn the bread and hope it balances the meal out!"

How about, address direct problems directly. Does too much damage? Don't remove it's speed run, Nerf damage. Cooldowns too long? Buff cooldowns. Dies too fast? Don't nerf counteractive items just BUFF it's own defense!

The problem with your metaphor, is it implies Riot wants to properly balance their game. So far, from all indicators, they have no desire to balance their game and want to just fuck shit up every so often so that the meta doesnt get stale.

I saw a picture/comic somewhere making fun of game balancing. it went something like:

OMG THAT IS SO OP NERF PLS!!! Valve balancing: fight broken with broken Blizzard balancing: taking turns Riot balancing: fun-sized!
