@Riot Nimbus Cloak looks cool, too bad mages are locked into Manaflow Band

Basically we've been forced to use Manaflow Band because no other runes can help with mana pool or mana sustain, and items don't help with mana sustain at all.

Anything in the same rune tier as Manaflow Band will only be effectively available to champs who either don't use mana, or don't have high mana needs.

I mean. You could get gud and learn to manage Mana. Like we used to do before riot randomly added Mana to every God damn item.

"like we used to do" You mean when we had the Meditation mastery? I'm getting sick of you obscenely stupid people who literally can't remember anything accurately from more than a few months ago.

ROFL. I am talking about before chalice had an upgrade and you literally didn't buy Mana unless you used tear and roa (which was like 2 champions) you must be new here.

Back when ezreal q cost 80 Mana rank 1. You literally got 4 of them before going oom.

You know sivir. She is less Mana intensive then most mages used to be. Sit the fuck down because your acting like an entitled child.

Back when we had mana regen runes, the meditation mastery, and mana regen items? We didn't buy a larger mana pool because mana regen was stronger. By stronger I mean it actually existed on multiple sources.

Meditation didn't show up until season 5. Don't believe me? Check the history of it. Nobody took Mana Regen runes because scaling/flat ap blues were far more useful. And you took hp/armor yellows and quint's with some pages going ap quint's. With flat pen reds. You didn't have more access to Mana Regen. You had one item.

You had morelonomicon which was 10 Mana per 5 for the first 4 seasons of the game. You could take chalice but you had to sell it later because it didn't have an upgrade. Otherwise you took tear/row on karthus and anivia. You must really be fucking new. The old masteries have like 5 Mana per 10 max. Perservierence. Season2-3 game 4% increased Mana Regen.

And there you go. You just said it. We had actual mana regen items.

Before Morellonomicon we had better mana regen items btw.

There literally was no before morellonomicon. Do you even listen to yourself?

You just outed yourself as a new player (by my standards) It was added in the same patch as Maokai.

I started playing in 2009 fuck off.

It was Morelos evil tome in the beta. It was renamed to morelonomicon in season 1 or 2. I can't remember.

Do your research.

Khristophoros1 votes

It was added in 2011. You might wanna do YOUR research. The rename was in season 3.

I actually played in beta. You obviously didn't.

Morello didn't even work at Riot in beta.

Automated Riven1 votes

Nope, your right. I was thinking of something else. However. Mana objectively was significantly harder to manage in seasons past. Higher Mana costs combined with less access to Mana. My original comment still stands. Learn to manage Mana.

Khristophoros1 votes

That's false. We had much better options from items depending on which season you look at. In beta it was stuff like Philosopher's Stone, Catalyst, and Chalice. Then we got things like Athene's and Morello's, and Tear actually had mana regen on it.

After Riot gutted mana regen on items they made Meditation mastery better.

Runes were always an option and there was an early meta in season 1 or preseason 1 where people used mana regen runes, but then Riot nerfed the runes and buffed base mana regen on all champs to open up other rune options.

edit - Found the patch: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/V1.0.0.110

"All Champions with mana had their base mana regeneration increased by 2.5 mana per 5 seconds and mana regeneration per 5 seconds per level increased by 0.2."

Mana regen has never been more restricted than it is now mostly due to items not having it anymore. If you don't bring Manaflow Band on mages you're simply at a disadvantage. It's not a matter of learning to manage it better. You drastically lower sustainability so you can be shoved in easily.

I just want to have a choice in every rune tier. Runes are supposed to give you strategic choices.

Also manaflow is broken

Khristophoros3 votes

No it's just literally the only way to get any kind of mana sustain besides doran's ring. holy shit. I guess having any mana regen at all is broken.

AirKingNeo1 votes

or because you can stack by 7 minutes unironically

Khristophoros1 votes

7 minutes? In earlier seasons we just had the mana regen no questions asked.

<Removed by Moderation> How can manaflow band be overpowered if it's weaker than everything we've had in previous seasons?

AirKingNeo1 votes

What? Manaflow is stronger than what we've had in previous seasons.

Khristophoros1 votes

Strictly in terms of mana regen, it's not.

Manaflow Band is 1% missing mana per 5.

Meditation (after it was nerfed) was 1.25% missing mana per 5.

Before Meditation was %missing mana per 5, there were a lot of AP items with mana regen. So in past seasons we always had more options for mana regen before Riot slowly whittled it down to just a mastery which basically became this rune. Now this is the only real mana regen option we have.

AirKingNeo1 votes

250 max mana added. You also heal 1% of that missing every 5 seconds.

Khristophoros1 votes

I said STRICTLY IN TERMS OF MANA REGEN

Can you actually read? Do you have a brain?

AirKingNeo1 votes

at that point, your argument makes no sense because the premises is what is a better rune.

Khristophoros1 votes

Mana regen is better than mana pool given that most mages have low mana costs and the main problem is sustaining, so Meditation was better.

Mana pool is largely irrelevant aside from a few champs like Anivia and Kassadin.

We didn't really buy into more mana pool on most champs back in the day because mana regen was plentiful so there was no point. Now we buy it because it's the only option. We're just settling for it because there's literally no mana regen anymore besides this one rune.

Decided to edit out your insult, but leave the comment since it can lead to discussion.

Please keep insults out the discussion. There is no need for them here.

Sure why not. Who needs mana anyway.
