The "ADCs" for both teams were garen and heimerdinger. When I saw that midlane was irelia vs tristana a little part of me thought I was watching a bronze game and that the casters were trolling me about this being pros. Midlane aside, what's going on with the meta when neither team's bot lanes can be bothered to pick an ADC? IDK if this is the best thing or the worst thing to happen in years.

First assassins have forced midlaners into support and now top laners are forcing ADCs out of lane as well.

I'm down with anything that breaks the mold of how lanes should look like. Imo the consensus about the composition of the lanes holds the game back more than it does good. Not that I think that some structure and recurrence isn't good, I just like to see the stone tablet crumble a bit.

Question is though how relevant is what the pros do for us mortals. As far as I know not even half of it trickles down in a meaningful way.

To many essential game mechanics were watered down over the years to a point where everyone can do everything.

Back in the days every role had specific jobs noone else could do reliably. That's simply no longer the case.
