Master Yi doing 50% of a tanks health as True Damage what the hell?
Like come on, at least let tanks be fucking tanks at the very least.

Wait ngl I hate Yi, he's a part of the list of braindead champs that scale regardless of what you do and while I acknowledge there are 'pro Yis' and there is a clear distinction between a good Yi and a bad one, is he not undeniably unfun to play against? It is a running joke between my friends that whenever we wanna win a game (norms / whatever), we say just pick Yi or Jax. On 3 occassions amongst my friends they've Yi in Arams and we've all joked saying free pentas and it happened! It is just that easy, I don't think I can look at Yi and say his gameplay is healthy regardless of whether his presence in pro-play / challenger is low.
healithier then old aatrox.
I want whatever coke Riot is sniffing, because it HAS to be good for them to think that.
That's just Yi being Yi though... When has he not done this when fed? A fed Yi has done that for as long as he has existed.
Did you just started playing last month and just found out what a fed Yi can do? Cause otherwise this post is as useless today as it was in 2014.
No no no, you don't understand. Like come on, at least let tanks be fucking tanks at the very least.

I'm sorry, but I believe you're the confused one. 6/0 Yi with one and a half items will melt anything in less than a quarter of a millisecond. Yi has always been the type of character that could run away with a game if he's really fed.
The real problem is he used to require TIME. Even Devourer/Feral Flare Yi needed time to farm his broken item up. In current League of Legends, you get like two kills in the first 7 minutes of the game, a single item and you're practically unstoppable. The real discussion here should not be not Yi. He's still just his usual old stupid self. It's the game on the other hand is being forced into this horrible sate of "Rush an item!! QUICK YOU GOTTA BE ULTRA POWERFUL 10 MINUTES IN!!". I hate this meta Meddler and his crew have crafted. I'm an ADC player, but I'm also someone who'll rush Warmog's on Cho Top and enjoy being a wall that doesn't deal damage but is there to serve as a frontline for my carries. I unironically enjoy that style of play, but if any carry (not just Yi) is reaching their power spike so early and on a single item, there's very little in the way of options.
It was a joke. Read OP's post.

I'd like to see a 0/6 Yi doing that. If you've got a video, I wouldn't mind seeing it :)

I said fed not feeding.
I said fed not feeding.
You didn't say that, but that's fine...
This doesn't change what my original post was about either. Yi has always been a character that can melt through stuff once he has enough items. You seem to be missing the real problem here. Old School Yi would still melt a tank EVEN during the Cinderhulk meta a couple years ago. Thing was: Yi used to require TIME back then. Now, every game encourages you to fight as early as possible. Get only a couple kills, a single item, and suddenly you're incredibly strong.
Yi is not the problem. Game pace is. More than ever games are being decided early based on quick advantages. The rule of League seems to be becoming "You're either one full item ahead, or one full item behind" and because Yi is still his old stupid self, this game pace means it takes him 7 minutes as opposed to 20 or 25 to get to that power spike. But then again, any fed character in the current meta becomes strong. If you have a Level 10 Vayne/Trynda/Yasuo with a BorK or an IE complete go up against a Level 8 tank with only pieces of their first item, they're gonna melt like nothing else, and fall further behind. Then, even if they've completed say... a Thornmail, the Vayne/Trynda/Yas (or Yi...) will probably have their second item done, so the Thornmaill will feel like shit.
This is a result of the current design philosophy around the game, and it plagues everyone, not just Yi and a couple tanks. We should be discussing game pace, not Yi just being Yi like he has for years.

You don't seem to understand what "fed" means.
Basically fed means he is ahead in gold. Yi doesn't need to be ahead to destroy a tank, he just needs the items. But yes game pace is the issue, Yi/Vayne/Kayle/Vlad coming online much sooner than they were originally designed to is problematic, but whatever this is league of legends now.

Vayne doesn't come online until 3 items... which is what she's intended to.
Kayle comes online at 1 maybe 2.
Yi 2.
He didnt say feeding, he said “not fed.” 2/1 and 0/6 are not the same thing.
And an 0/6 yi can probably still do that.

They literally said...

I don't see the "not feeding" part anywhere in that post. If you wanna discuss that's fine, but don't make up stuff that wasn't said previously.
And i dont see the word “feeding” anywhere in the post so why are you mentioning 0/6?

Your kda does not influence the damage you deal.
True gold doesn't help buy items or increase dps. Fed carries don't hurt anymore than their nonfed counterparts.

If you are fed and buy full randuin, you are not dealing more damages than without. If you are 0/6 with 200 farm as a jungler you are more fed than a 6/0 with 100 CS If everyone is full stuff and you are 0/100, you are dealing the same amount of damages as if you were 100/0 If you are fed and built full glass canon, the 0/6 annie with 3 items WILL delete you
We're talking about yi. He isn't stacking randuins. Generally, a 6/0/0 yi will do more damage than the 0/6/0 yi. Disagree all you want. Lol.
A yi with 3 items is still going to do that to a tank regardless if said yi is 0/5 or 1/0.
Long as he got the gold to do it (what are minions/camps?) he will do it.

i miss when yi had counter play and his attack speed was reduced by wardens mail. i miss when his E didnt do true damage.
but then they gave him true damage, thank you.
Are we gonna ignore the fact he used to not have true damage and was mainly viable as an AP midlaner pre 3.10? I liked that yi better tbh, although admittedly, he was stronger in high elo
The fact that this problematic has been existing for as long the champion existed is not for one bit an argument to keep it that way, quite the opposite.
Champions with unhealthy behavior that are the result of having a kit that aged like milk are prime targets for reworks, it has always been.
are just some few examples of champions who previously had extremely unbalanced kits who ended being bad for the game, some of those champions getting gutted prior to their rework as a result. Defending a kit who is far overdue for ATLEAST a minor rework with an argument such as "it always been like that" is just asking for an unhealthy game.
hi there silver player, for 0 clue players il explain . Masters E giving him true damage for 5 sec https://i.imgur.com/CeGBbXz.png enjoy to learn abilitys instead of making stupid thread about champs who dying in 1 stun [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
I see you've never took a math course before...
You mean OP hasn't?
If Yi solo kills a tank, please, tell me what kind of damage you expected him to do. Especially one with high resistances. Did you expect half his damage to be magic damage?
That's not what I'm referring to.
I'm saying his E does not solely contribute to doing 50% of a tank's HP as true damage. Hence, the reason of my statement. In other for Yi to do that to a tank, there are several other contributing factors that are needed.

Ah, well there we go, no more balance patches lads. Just check the wiki and accept this is fine.
50% hp?
With elder Dragon buff or what? If so then know that it´s bugging and some champs can trigger it seemingly randomly and execute targets with just 1 hit regardless of how little damage is done.
Otherwise i am really wondering because without Conqueror doing true damage then there shouldnt really be any way for Yi to do so much true damage quickly? I mean a tank has at least 4000 health and Yi´s E does like 80 per hit when maxed out.
Even with 20 hits that´s not 50%, close but not quite there yet and it´s 20 fricking hits.
He likely had Gunsoo’s Rageblade stacked and Lethal Tempo procced. Plus, you have to account for his passive. All in all, his passive procs 3 times per 7 attacks, and his E damage is doubled by Rageblade every 3 autos. So in 21 attacks, his E procs 37 times. Thus, his E does nearly 3000 damage if it deals 80 damage on-hit. Which is almost 75% of their hp, without including damage from the attacks themselves.

The reason i empathized 20 attacks was the fact that it´s highly unreasonable to expect him to actually attack that much uninhibited in the first place, and if you do then you have screwed up.
Even if he attacks fast he is still vulnerable to CC and damage, so as long as the tank has a team to help him then Yi should not be a problem...But of course if the tank is alone then well Yi is a hyperscaling duelist so it´s dumb to get caught by him at that stage of the game.
Tanks are worlds better in a coordinated teamfight so he has to do that much to have a reason to exist.
Another Clown fiesta season is upon us.
I don't even want to play it. I might play one or two more games but i fear those few games will burn me out so much that it will make me quit league for months
I'm looking at the comments and the underlying arguement is that he's always done this... Sooo it's fine? I have been playing the game for 5 years and it's true, he has been a hyper carry that runs at you at mach speed while tearing down tanks and getting pentas, but why do we have to be ok with that? Why are we putting in the effort into playing harder champs with lesser of a yield (with the exception of Yasuo). I'm not going to lie, playing against champions that just scale is terribly unfun, it confines a winning condition into having to win early game and that is just unrealistic in a lot of cases. Why am I fighting against time because the same thing I do in terms of playing the game has more of a reward for you than I? Prime examples, Nasus, Veigar, Yasuo, Jax...
I personally don't mind going against champions like Kassadin, Vayne, Kayle and a number of champions that do better in the late game as opposed to their early, because the difference is there is more counterplay and more room for error on their behalf, more often than not, those who do good late game on these sorts of champions are skilled or understand their champion, to the point where it feels like a skill matchup instead of a complete white wash because their champion out performs mine. I don't main any of those listed so it's not a case of bias and I agree, sometimes when I get one shot by a late game Kassadin I just think "W.T.F" but at least I understand that he is truly a late game champion and is otherwise fed as a result of mistakes that can be rectified in future games. He didn't just come back to lane with a
/
- (Nasus) and begin to start winning lane. He didn't back and get a
(Ryze) and start outrading with 0 AP benefits... So it feels fair
That's just my take tho...
Just ban him, it's what I do. Shaco is the only other unbearably broken JG but at least tanks can deal with Shaco whereas Yi with rageblade just melts everything short of stacking 3 CC champs in your comp.
Yi's early game weakness has been completely mitigated. He may not be able to duel out a voli/warwick/xin zhao/udyr/reksai early, but all the other champs he most definitely contests just fine and by lv6 will outduel and be able to invade with impunity.
Alpha strike should not do the damage it does on top of being such a great juking tool with a gap closer built in. It's virtually a better version of Kayn's ult, what the hell.
Ok so from what i can assume its the game you played as Leona where you armor items were a Righteous Glory, Glacial Shroud and a knights Vow against a fully build Yi. What damage did you expect to tank from him? E gives true damage and the guinsoos he built gives him percentage armor piercing. Even then you guys won.
Holy shit, people in the comments are actually defending Yi being able to do that. How far did we fall?
Because it shouldn't work any other way by sheer logic.
Yi deals true damage and physical damage. As his physical damage goes down (such as by attacking a high-armor target), his ratio of true damage to physical damage goes up.
If he solo kills a 350 armor champion, I fully expect half of his damage to be true damage, because the tank would have resisted most of the physical. That's basic logic at that point.
" we want master yi to be THE true damage champ" like what they did with blitzcrank
Topics like this remind me of the times I've played against people who call me a camper for using projectile characters in fighting games. Yes, I'm going to use what I have. What else should I be doing, running into your sword?
Same concept. What else should Yi be doing in a teamfight if not cleanup after you've spent your CC? This is what he's always done.
50%? That's absurd. Usually it's 80-90% for master yi
Well conqueror did get changed to not have true damage conversion anymore, so that explains it.
Like come on, at least let tanks be fucking tanks at the very least.
I take it you've never played against a full build vayne? You can't even effectively build armor against her once she has a rageblade, bork, grieves, and max W. If anything in the game melts tanks, it's Vayne.
Also, Yi isn't that great the higher elo he goes. This is because people know how to kill him and counter him. CC on a yi is a death sentence. I mean... Jax.. he isn't nerfed because he isn't even good.
But in all seriousness, any late game hypercarry that gets fed early is going to slaughter everything. End games before they get to late game is the best way to counter them.
I hope you understands how Yi works.
He is a tank buster because:
*If you build HP he shreds it with Bloodrazor+Guinsoo
*If you build armor he does true damage with E.
*So either way, he is meant to beat tanks really hard as are Vayne and Fiora.
All 3 can shred tanks even when behind if they have their powerspikes: Guinsoo or Ravenous for Fiora.
Do I think they have toxic designs that need nerfs? Sure. But as of now(and probably since forever) you don't really complain about them. It's how they work.
Considering how squishy YI is, it comes down to locking him down for a few seconds and nuking him to oblivion. Also building anti heal helps cause you can just out damage him when he trys to meditate.
Well for how trash his early game is he better be able to do something lol. Imagine if the tank cced him and the team focused him
Yeah, let's nerf Yi and replace him with Maokai, Sejuani and Zac facetanking 5 people, taking no damage and killing squishies because of their high base damage and bullshit CC spam.
Yi is supposed to be a tank killer with his true damage. And as DuskDaUmbreon pointed out, Yi will deal mostly true damage against someone with high armor, since his physical damage is being mitigated.
But it just seems that the boards want the braindead tank meta back in the game. I don't care though since I am done with the game.
Imagine if they added a tank item that turns true damage into ad/ap

That's never gonna happen.
The whole point of True Damage is it's meant to be a hard counter to resistances.
