C9 Winter vs. a Lv13 Newbie!

Was it a ranked game or a normal.

God the amount of times I have to explain how/why this occurs is fucking dumb.

First random point: he was level 20. His masteries have 20 points in them. Op.gg is slow at updating somethings.

Next: I doubt C9 Winter has played normals more than 10-20 times in the last several seasons. His normals mmr is probably down in low silver.

Next: His normals mmr is going to start fixing itself very rapidly, as I'm assuming he crushed everyone. The 10 games full of low elo players who face him just have to deal and try and learn from the experience.

There is a reason for this. Let's say raising your ranked mmr also raised your normals mmr. Where the fuck would you try new champs out at? Lots of players just use norms to learn other rolls and try out new champs. The way they're playing isn't actually at the level which they play their main roles at.

Do you want to spend 50 games trying to learn a role you're not competent at and get shit on constantly? How can you learn the nuances of support if you can only play it at a silver level, but you're being matched against plat level players anyway, regardless of how you're playing? No one is going to firsttime a champ and be at their ranked level with them. Normals is also not exclusively for trying out champs, so there's going to be players who only play normals, but always play at X level. It makes learning champs harder. I feel like the average normal mmr is several divisions below the player's ranked mmr anyway.

On the other hand, he could just troll a few matches here and there so he doesn't win so much, thus prompting QQ posts like this.

I will agree though, I do feel ranked MMR should be a consideration with normal MMR, but not vice versa.
