My first ever ranked game I was told to drink bleach.

I'm sorry to hear it :/ I started ranked for the first time this year and I had some very tough placements myself - no AFKs from memory but at least one feeder and quite a lot of negativity. It wasn't a great start to ranked and it made me a lot less optimistic about it being fun. That said, since that bad start things have been quite a lot better, especially since provisionals finished. I've played with a lot of nice people and climbed from Silver 5 to Silver 1 (next stop Gold... hopefully). It's a pretty fun mode for me, though that might be in part because I'm sick of being paired against multiple Plats/Diamonds in normals.

Don't give up on ranked too quickly, it will likely get better.

I just started my placements yesterday. I've never experienced anything more out of control. Feeders, roaming supports at the 2 minute mark etc. It's like there is no laning phase lol

Story of my life. Any time I get into my promos, we get AFKers and other badies. I stopped playing ranked cause it's wack.
