@Meddler since you're around can you comment on Nidalee?

It seems to me that Nidalee is in a more toxic state than before her update.

Spear might do a little less, but still devastating enough to force you to back, and now she gets an easy leap in for the execute... oh and the spear cooldown is really low now.

Meanwhile in cougar form she gets a reset on her pounce for killing a unit for some reason, because she wasn't annoying enough to pin down already?

A big question I have to ask is, is a skillshot that does so much damage it forces an enemy to back on a short cooldown integral to Nidalee's identity?

Well what is Nidalee's identity? Is it;

Long ranged poke. Mobility (free ie no mana) Burst Utility (vision granting/healing/attack speed buff to herself/others/ect...)

Or is her identity a generalist. Someone who Riot allows to be strong at everything other than hard CC and called "balanced".

Traditionally she excelled at split pushing and small fights.

Oh yeah, I agree. I'm just saying she doesn't have a weakness. And for whatever reason Riot likes those kind of champions.

As much as it's not what people want to hear, I'm pretty sure the answer to this is yes. Say what you want about her excess mobility, supercharged execute or powerful heal but Nidalee just isn't Nidalee without nuclear tipped spears. Nidalee without a long ranged nuke is like Janna without Howling Gale or Karthus without his global ult. It's a champion without their identity.
