Can we maybe tone it down with the ADC hate?

Note: I'm not an AD main, I hate playing AD, just to clear up any accusations of bias.

I get it, ADC's are all toxic Vayne mains and the sun shines out of the support's asshole or whatever, but aside from a few fringe cases, ADC isn't an easy role to play. They require really delicate positioning, and until they have a few items need to be babysat so they don't get fucked by the jungler and the solo laners. Couple that with the fact that they need to understand specific bot lane synergies and how one ADC/Supp duo plays into another, it's a way more difficult role than people give it credit for. I'm not saying that it's the hardest role or anything, but playing ADC isn't a freelo strategy or anything. They have to put the work in just like the rest of us.

i have more an issue with the way the game supports marksmen than i do with the players

i don't think anybody's actually claimed adc was a brain dead role, but most marksmen aren't particularly hard to play either; there are 4 that I would say have a steep learning curve to them

But adc isnt about having insanely hard champions to play. The hard part everyone conveniently ignores is how hard positioning is as an adc especially at low elo.

Positioning is only hard in low elo because you don't know how to position.

Exactly my point... Its not something you can just learn because it changes on a game to game basis. So it is extremely difficult for new people to learn. (including me)

I guess I'll just hand ADC to someone else and take support instead if I can't have mid/top.

Well...that's kinda the point of a skill curve isn't it?

positioning is hard in low elo because your teammates are low elo and aren't likely to help you by frontlining/peeling

the only person you can really rely on at that level of play is your support and that's still a toss-up

From my understanding, positioning usually is with the mindset that you're not going to get help.

No amount of positioning can save you from a Zed ultimate or a champion that can dive your backline like Zac. You need peel but it's up to the team to give it to you.

Zed ultimate? Sure, you can't dodge point at click.

Zac? There's an indicator. Zac tells you where he is landing. Positioning is pretty much how you dodge it.

I might not know Zac as well after his rework so forgive me there.

I mean...that's always been the counterplay to his E and he's had an indicator for months.

positioning on everyone is difficult, i don't really consider that an ADC exclusive trait.

Spârky1 votes

Never said it was adc exclusive trait. It just tends to affect adc's the most. Most mid laners now (not all) like ahri for example have a dash to make up for it so if they do make a mistake she can maneuver around. Where as most adc's don't have this benefit. Unless you play like ezreal and lucian.

So true, I used to think I could play ADC's as well as mid lane mages like Vladimir. I only proved myself wrong by going negative in nearly every game. One miss-play and you're dead.

Why do champs hurt me, wtf why should i be punished for mispositioning??????? me adc, me do damage, me should not be hurt , gut lb, ahri, viktor, (every midlaner in the game) pls BECAUSE I AM THE CARRY

I just don't understand why there's this victim complex of riot intentionally screwing bruisers/assassins/whatever over in favor of ADcs. In the end i feel like adc balance and riot always becomes the scapegoat.

Like, I would love for Riot to nerf peeling supports/buff engage and aggro supports, nerf shields, whatever is making meta into hypercarries and peel comps, because it's not fun. Whether or not adc is strong or weak, it's not fun when you aren't properly rewarded for skilled play / punished for poor play. But the opinions on this board are so often lacking any sort of nuance, so often it's just "ADCs got MY items nerfed! ADCs are the problem!" and don't look at it from a more impartial perspective.
