Riven Fervor Vs. Thunderlords (cant find anything recent)

it be lìke that··1 votes·1,740 views

So i imagine thunderlords is better for trading in lane, (you also get the 5% extra cdr from going this path) but i have to assume fervor has far higher damage potential.

is this the jist or is it far more complicated?

Fervor seems like it naturally boosts her passive, but she has to do a sustained fight whereas she's all about burst.

Tough call.

i just tend see most boosters/smurf rivens running fervor. i saw one who was undeniably a booster but they were lagging horribly.

had fervor and just amazing farm, like, ridiculous. they dc'd for 10 minutes, still came back and outfarmed everyone. lol perfect q combos.

just thinking there has to be a reason, i guess its a more explosive late game?

if you want to take short trades and back off thunderlords will serve you better but extended trades fervor

i just need someone who didnt get a B in math all his life to post some numbers about how many autos you would need with fervor to beat out the burst of thunderlords,if i had to guess it would be 4-5 autos early, around 3 late.

The burst of Thunderlords scales with your level AND AD. At level 18, lets say you have 200 bonus AD or so, that's roughly 180 + 60 or so damage

Now with Fervor, you scale with level only, and you have to land an AA to get damage out of it. At level 18, each of your Autos does 14 damage per stack. At 8 stacks you get 111 or so damage per Auto. Abilities add 1, and autos add 2, so you would get to 8 stacks after all 3 casts of your Q and 3 autos. Pretty easy to do. At that point, you would only need to get about 2 more autos in to out damage thunderlord's decree, but the issue is time, and whether or not the enemy will be alive long enough for the stacks to matter

Fervor for people who can't animation cancel with her yet, Thunderlords for those who can

i think its more complicated than that, late game with fervor you can run in destroy someone get stacks destroying them and destroy someone else.

as to where thunderlords is a 20 second cd. burstier kill but less sustained damage.

not if you E summoner 4 and Q Tiamat+W and R you will get thunderlords on them all in a team fight and it does a lot from my experience for your team to clean up or if your ahead enough to get some kills out of it.

when going vs champs you have to take long trades with in order to beat (gnar, irelia, fiora, sion, darius) you take fervor

when going vs champs that can shit on you in long trades or will make you miserable late game (ekko, gnar, irelia, illaoi, garen, gp) you need the extra cdr to dodge and move around them.

this is how i see it . i know i added gnar and irelia in both categories, its just what i feel like doing in lane that changes masteries vs them. some gnars go full tank and dont kite so fervor is good. some gnars go frozen mallet and you need the cdr to run or catch up after them.

isnt darius the opposite? extended trades will get you nuked from his passive

that depends. if you kite well enough he wont land that many skills on u and you can back out after his 5th stack comes on to you. fervor helps a lot vs darius and if you can bait out his q , back out and then go back in , you should be solid

What stage of the game we talking?

Thunderlord's beats about every other keystone early game except maybe Warlord's on select champions and maybe Grasp of the Undying for beefy champs (Burst vs Sustain).

Thunderlord's is typically outclassed late game by all of the keystones. DFT does more damage overall by a huge margin, fervor gives more damage, warlords is healing a lot, etc. Thunderlord's is a small burst assistance for assassin-like champs late game.

Riven personally? Thunderlord's. Riven is about smashing that early game top lane and snowball the rest after. Thunderlord's is good for that extra damage, especially if you can animation cancel. She's also more heavily about abilities, not so much autos. Autos factor a lot in but in a panic situation or just easier effort, Fervor won't fully be utilized, since autos can't always be used.

Plus, when talking about Keystones, you should always be talking about the whole T3 on the masteries.

Riven, in addition to working well early with TLD, also benefits a lot from the increased CdR.

Fervor is great if your going to have 2 fights within 20 seconds thunder lords better for small trade

Surge for annoying slow champs like trundle or tryndamere, nasus depends
