Is it just me, or is all Bans used on Assassins that snowball?

Every start of a match tends to roll down to. "What assassins do I want to give them?" I just can't help but feel like assassins are too snowbally and it's killing mid lane.

Assassins? Killing mid lane? Get it? Get it?

That probably wasn't an intentional pun.

I noticed. Try playing bruisers in the mid lane. Or tanks or off-tanks. My personal favorite is Chogath.

it comes down to counterplay

when an assasin gets fed, wether it be fizz zed akali or any other assasin

when they jump on you and 100-0 you because your mid or w/e fed them a shitton theres nothing you can do...its one thing to do a shitton of dmg...but its a whole different story when he does one round and kills you from 100-0

even more annoying when you got a lead like 6/1 and he comes out of a bush and u just die b4 being able to even cast an ability

at that point what do you do? spend 3k+ on an item so after his initial round your at 2% then he just autos you while sacrificing your damage to do so? (keep in mind people like master yi or someone who will just chase you down faster anyway even if u live with 2%

I was just thinking this in my game earlier when i was captain. I asked my team what they wanted for bans and before i could even say anything else 3 people in unison said Zed/Akali/Fizz. Literally all 3 nearly at the exact same time wanted the exact same 3 champions banned. They all had a good laugh about it too. But its not just the fact they are assassins but the fact that they are highly mobile assassins. 2 of them with Huge safety nets and incredible up front burst damage and the third with the ability to relentlessly pursue and out duel anyone who comes near her.

It is pretty funny when all the six bans are assassins. You'd think Riot would notice this pattern.

I agree, since for the most part Assassains were designed to counter the prominent AP Carries in the mid lane no one wants to play the mid lane unless you main the Assassain classes. So we ban the Assassains because they have little to no counter play and they snowball either with just one item (Yasuo and his Statikk Shiv) or they snowball way to hard off one kill (Akali, Fizz). I honestly hate most Assassains. They work WAY to well with their own kits and stand on their own way too well. I realize they need a strong kit to be able to do what they need to, but the issue is they do it too well leaving several AP Carries in the dust. Why play someone who takes more time and team effort to get rolling when you can play someone who needs very little to get started.

Assassins are just annoying in solo-queue. You have to trust a complete stranger to not feed them. You generally don't have the communication to know what CDs the assassin has up or which way they just left to roam. Plus you get punished harder against assassins, so it is almost not fun to practice if you don't know the match up at all against a player that mains that assassin.

Still, I really feel like assassins are among the hardest to hard carry with and thus kinda balanced. You can get over 20 kills with one, but still lose the game due to lower teamfight presence especially if your team keeps getting caught out while you roam/split for picks. 10 kills with an ADC is roughly the same difficulty as 10 with an assassin with like 5 times the benefit. People just see wow 20 kills and think OP as if this is team deathmatch.

I don't normally play solo, so I still use my bans to protect my weakest teammate. Sometimes that means I ban assassins, but usually it doesn't.

Meanwhile anyone above bronze has no problem surviving assassins.

Yes, because they tend to cannibalize other balls of snow while being already self-proficient in their cryo-synthesis.

In gold Akali is a popular ban I noticed.

But I'd sooner ban Gnar, Azir, Jarvan and Zed.
