So I come back to the game to find viktor suddenly became popular and had to be nerfed. How ironic

Viktor was one of the first characters I loved to play, and wanted to main, when I started playing this game two years ago.

The ironic part is nobody played him, yet he was exactly the same as he was back when everyone thought he was top tier. He got almost picked, or not picked at all, in recent pro tournaments.

That was part of the appeal of him for me. I like playing the underrated champions that require a lot of skill. I usually lose interest in the champion everyone wants to play and is considered overpowered.

It's probably good then during my break from the game I come back to find Viktor is still not picked much. Unfortunately a lot more people know how to play against him now, having experience in what to expect from him. You use to be able to catch people off guard with a rare pick.

I am at least pleased that their nerfs were not so heavy handed. They didn't take away power outright, but shifted it around to later in the game. Unfortunate, but at least I don't feel like my late game teamfight potential has been harmed if I can pull it off.

Viktor was always one of those champs that his mains absolutely knew was too strong, and yet somehow still felt a challenge to play well. The Rework made him weaker, but gave us VERSATILITY.

And then, whaddaya know - the Mage Update took away some've that versatility and buffed his numbers again.

Typical. :P

He seems in an okay spot, though. I play him with the intent to buy mana, max q, and Muramana/Seraph's my way to Viktory. I was kind've caught offguard with how efficient a hybrid viktor can actually be now. Yay mana scaling on shields!
