Ran Across Custom Client Overlay: LSI Summoner Something. Video Shows Ability To Disable Surrender?

(yes it claims to be riot approved, let's get back to main point)

( not approved, but tolerated, same difference... )

So I ran across this web site: http://www.leaguelsi.com/

I was watching their video when I saw it, like a beautiful butterfly in a ray of sunshine, an option to "disable surrender window"

...I downloaded and installed it and no such option. I sent them an email asking about the option and got no reply.

Did Riot people make them remove it? For what reason would they do this?

I understand that surrender vote nazi's have very strong feelings, but people with integrity have strong feeling about not surrendering too.

Those guys ended up defeating the evil alien and saving the entire planet earth!

what if a surrender box had popped up at the beginning? the earth would be doomed.

(oh yeah? well in that case I'm remove my up vote! )

Inb4 3rd party app gets you banned.

sigh. lame. especially since I had already pre-troll-proofed this comment from that obvious and amateur diversion tactic.

I don't think it's rito approved...

...wait, actually, that is some mighty strange wording in all honesty. "use at your own risk???" wtf.

However, if they removed an option, it would make sense that it was to maintain some semblance of compliance with some line in the sand from riot, so I'm assuming that this specific option, crossed that line, and I'm wondering, why?

I could be wrong, maybe the pressure didn't come from riot at all, but from the angry Right To Surrender Extremists.

That's from them, not rito. Also, if rito gets mad at you for something, they can just permaban your account for 3rd party apps lol. Don't make rito mad at you.

I don't want rito mad at me.

I heard if you say something they don't like here, they will stalk you in game during their so called 'lan parties'

they have a white board with a summoner hit list on it

I didn't even know this program had an overlay, I just use it to record my games. The option you're seeing was likely to keep surrender boxes from popping up in spectator mode/game recordings, probably something that was fixed elsewhere leading to the options removal as it would have been obsolete.

well in all honesty, like many of these overlay programs (curse excluded) you can't have complete trash computer, like I do, to use them. : (

However, if this is true, then they are dumb and I wouldn't want a client from the likes of people like that. But I'm skeptical thatt any developer would just remove a popular option like that, they would know that there is a HUGE percentage of players who hate you Surrendering Sarah Palin's of the wrorld.

I think you may have misinterpreted what I meant here, the option may not have been ever available in game, but meant to fix an inconvenience with spectator mode that Riot later fixed themselves, or if it was an in game option it may have either stopped working due to patch changes and not deemed worth fixing by the dev either due to low popularity or high time investment to fix for a relatively small change. If you want to find the actual reason you can select Misc>changelog in the LSI client and read through the patch notes, though there are quite a few of them by this point.

My reaction was over the top, but fact is, I was mad, after installing all that, and finding that surrender nazi's are still able to harass honest players.

I emailed the developers, because I was curious myself, this is the response I got back

Hey,

unfortunately we had to remove that feature a while back by request from Riot.

You can try to do it manually by navigating to "[...]\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases[highest number]\deploy\DATA\menu\hud", opening the file that corresponds to your screen resolution, and adding the following two lines:

[Surrender] XPos = 5000.0000

That makes LoL set the x coordinate of the surrender box to 5000, which should be way off-screen, effectively hiding the box. I haven't tried whether that still works in a while, but you can give it a shot!

Cheers.

When testing it this doesn't seem to work any longer as the file path no longer exists(no menu folder in DATA)

So no real answer from anyone?

typical.

How does it harm you to have more options? Same people complaining about chromas. Those people already have scripts, auto asking for surrender as soon as timer is up. sad.

It's funny when I see so many view on a topic. People are literally scared to post in these forums these days due to the thought police who abuse and down vote topics people want to know about and are interested in. That's fine, but don't wonder later why nobdoy comes here anymore except for that 4chan burnouts crowd on GD. : )

When I am playing a game, and silly surrender troll just sitting at base waiting for me to engage enemy to defend the turret, to push for surrender at JUST THAT RIGHT MOMENT so that surrender box pops up in my face. THAT IS AFFECTING GAMEPLAY!
