This gave me all the feels. :(
It's always worth remembering there's a real human being on the other side of the keyboard. Sometimes I look around at a crowded mall or in the middle of a giant raid and try to imagine the fact that EVERYONE there has lives as complex as my own - with friends and problems and preferences for broccoli or whatever. It's a simple thing that never fails to blow my mind.
Tempted to use this, as it's true for me also.
League of Legends is used by many as an outlet to deal with unrest. Don't vent your frustrations into chat or, at the very least, be polite about it.
"Direct action is not always the best way. It is a far greater victory to make another see through your eyes than to close theirs forever"
I tried to use this in my last game and my teammates turned on my and said they hope my dad kills me my mom from abuse.
True story.
#LeagueCommunity
I'm shocked that worked, usually when i see pity stories in games even the enemy team joins in telling them they deserved to be killed/disowned etc...
(yep, I stole this from the front page of reddit. sue me)
I would have to modify mine to say something along the lines of, "Guys I play games to get away from my wife yelling at me"..
Wonder if it would work? True story though.
I'm sure a lot of League players would fight more just to be a dick :/
My parents got divorced when I was just a baby, I don't know what its like to have two parents :(
And the one parent I had used to give me black eyes for attention seeking :(
I play games to beat other players, instead of beating my wife
I don't believe for a second that that worked. Sorry guys, but I have way too little faith in the online community for that.
Much Depression in this chat.
I love how everyone in here is trying to act all "holier than thou" when in reality you are probably all responsible for trash talking, demoralizing, tilting, and blaming teammates and opponents alike. How about instead of oohing and aahing and patting yourselves on the back, you actually try to make a difference in the community through actions. Thanks.
Thats sad and also true for me. Some parents are really evil.
Kas!SAD!in :D
I understand this all too well. When you can bring yourself to sympathize with a player going through this and understand it's a more common unfortunateness than you'd expect, you will then change for the better.
I play a lot of high elo games and most of my games the chat is nearly empty, so nobody ever knows what a player feels like in real life. I take the caution that even if a player is trolling, that maybe they're just having a bad game because of real life situations. ![]()
Was in a recent ARAM game. Someone on my team made a comment about suicide. It was slightly ambiguous but they were probably talking about in game, so the other team doesn't get any gold. A person on the other team asked "IRL or ingame?". guy on our team said something like "lol both I guess". Enemy team guy then posted the phone number for the suicide hotline. I was moved. He was probably only joking, but the possibility of that helping someone was more important.
aw poor guy, awwww awwwwww, go play DOTO4
Yo Maan, let's all like chill out and collect chimes.
