[srsly] New Ten Ban System... Kinda Brilliant Actually.

I'll admit when I first heard about 10 bans, I was like #$%@#$#$^%%$#!!!!

"Now I will never get to play Teemo! Thanks Riot. : ("

But the way it was implemented, where everyone gets a ban and you can end up banning the same champ because it's a blind ban system, well, I have to admit, this was kind of, sort of, a brilliant method of implementation.

And it has almost eliminated the who whole "please ban so and so or else" hostage situations....

Anyway, Just wanted to say that.

I hate the fact I had this happen literally yesterday. Some guy asked us to ban draven before he banned caitlyn instead, and then when they first picked draven he auto locked cleanse ghost malphite ADC and raged through the whole champ select.

But I'm glad this new system should lower the chances of this sorta thing happening.

Had a Riven who banned Darius, then asked for someone else to ban Zac. Guess they wanted two bans :V

Nobody banned Zac, but nobody picked Zac anyhow, so no harm done. item 2050item 2050

Same dude

@ the doubter: man it's almost like riot knows how to design the game they have been designing for years and made billions off of. Who fucking knew right?

I never got the reason why people complained about it at first. Again, just one of the many fascinating (and downright stupid) faucets of certain community members that always seem to get traction and give the illusion that such an opinion is formed by the majority of us.

Duplicating bans isn't a problem because the duplicates can only happen for opposite teams. And if both teams ban a single champion two times, then what's the problem? This simply means that both teams didn't want to play against that champion and it was a unanimous decision from at least two people to ban it. In any case, 5 bans per team is guaranteed and the ban phase time is really reduced so you don't have to wait for 5 minutes before you start picking your champions. Isn't this what people wanted?

Or did people simply want "10 bans" because they wanted to abuse the system and keep 10 champions on a permaban list? Because the first outcry at how "bad" the system would be seemed to had this hidden connotation. In that case, shame of the bullshitters who thought that we would't be wiser to conclude this was the real reason behind the complaints.

My only problems were that

  1. Blind lobby, of any kind, is completely ignored by riot
  2. This kinda redefined what the purpose of bans, compared to every other moba
  3. Average case, isn't actually 10 bans. I mean just mathematically.
