Justified nerfs to Riven.

Revert Q change to knock-back again Revert wallhop change

Her popularity would fall significantly. Back in the days she was much more fun and rewarding when played right.

I don't think either of those changes would really address Riven's problems, which are her ability to 100-0 enemies without giving them enough opportunities to react, along with her massive snowball potential. I personally take issue with her animation canceling: sure, it adds some level of personal difficulty to mastering Riven (and even then, that difficulty isn't too dependent on opponent interaction, the latter of which should be the proper gauge for difficult plays), but it also serves as an excuse to give Riven way more power, including a lot more burst, than she deserves. I would rather have a Riven who'd be easier to play, but who'd have to take far more time to kill her opponent, than a Riven with an artificial difficulty barrier who compensates for it with far too much burst.

You think burst is still high? Tell me what does it take to reach to that point of the game? She needs Hydra and Last Whisper. Two items to potentially kill someone in late game withing seconds (depends on champion). You're talking like I would play against Yasuo top lane every damn game lol. It's easy to burst down Yasuo or Teemo for example. But it's not that easy when I'm playing against Darius or Renekton or Maokai. It really depends on matchups. Animation cancelling is pretty irrelevant in long term because you're still going to have issues against certain matchups and comps who just smash you to bits.

Oh, and people do react in higher ELO games. Also they CC her whenever they see her as a bigger threat. Which pretty much locks her down completely. I can guarantee you that team fighting with Riven is pain in the ass. Maokai or Renekton does this way better. Right now you can have win lane Riven in your games, but it's still 50% win/lose scenario because Riven just sucks ass in team fights.

These changes I proposed was to actually lower her popularity to make her feel more "rewarding" to players who actually like her playstyle and don't care about freeElo.

Honestly, just an early item 3134 is enough to get Riven snowballing, so you don't need to have that much of a lead to start bursting people down. If the only counterplay to that is to pick really tanky champions, then that's not proper counterplay. I don't think changing any champion just to "reduce their popularity" is a good idea, as it would be better to have a popular, yet healthy and balanced champion, than one who still has issues but is artificially forced out of wider play. Wall-hopping is one of the cooler and more rewarding ways for Riven to express her skill and knowledge of the map, and I'd rather she kept that over her animation canceling, which is mandatory to mastering her but not that interesting in the long run.

I doubt Riot will revert these changes anyways. I just liked to play her when she wasn't considered to be freelo champ.

But animation cancelling is unique and shouldn't be touched imo. It really defines her playstyle. That makes her fun to play. You're saying it comes with a grand burst. Butalizer won't get her to snowballing, kek. Again you're overexaggerating. "I bought Bruta, I should be killing my opponent now 100% winz, noscope". In higher ElOS people are smarter! People actually know the risks when playing against Riven! It's not 100% WIN fuking lane when I bought bruta or dorans or 2x long swords!

Eh.

Only gripe that I have about her is that people mash her Q to escape all the time after using E. I'd be happy if her Q only empowered her autos (like Diana's passive) and didn't make her leap forward.

Remove her AOE ult or stat boosts

The wallhop was added because it used to be possible, though extremely difficult, to wallhop with any of your Q's. It was changed so the third Q can wall hop at a comparatively easier way, though the other 2 could not to make up for it. Unless you plan on adding that back on people are probably going to be pissed.

People are also pissed when they lose lane to Riven after they make one mistake, while she can do plenty.
