A Lux buff????????

Reducing the CD of her Q with a buff to her shield? Why is Lux constantly getting buffed? Frankly she was a strong champion pre-ult buff, now shes getting another buff???

Champions like Lux are supposed to have wide gaps of vulnerability. Right now if this chick builds CD (item 3165) she can rotate her Q and E for really consistent CC/burst AS WELL as more passive procs.

Her e has an extremely high mana cost and loses to most every meta pick right now, so she was in need of a buff. Basically what I was trying to say was that just because she can e q more doesn't mean she'll be able to bc of the mana cost hurting so much~

Firstly, item 3165 really helps with the mana problem. Secondly, considering its range, radius, dmg, missile speed AND it procing her passive makes its mana costs more than fair. Now on top, she can cast her ult sooner if she kills someone AND her Q is a lower CD AND now her shield protects for double. WHEN WILL IT STOP FFS

Yes item 3165 helps her mana problems but it doesn't completely solve them either, she will still have problems with mana. Granted everything you said is true but unless she's in laning phase she won't be procing her passive off of her e. I would like to say you can dodge it by walking towards her and that I didn't say it wasn't fair or that it needed buffs in any sort of way it just is very mana heavy.

Teemo never underestimate the power of Lux DEMACIA!

They're trying to give her the push she needs to be played at competitive levels without making her even more pubstompy at low elo, hence why they're not touching her damage.

Light Binding's cooldown buff becomes less relevant later in the game once Lux start putting points into it. Lux's shield just needed whatever help it could get, considering that it's been terrible ever since it got nerfed in patch 6.6.

I do like the buffs, and I think a lower mana cost on E in exchange for reduced size would be nice, but at the same time I'm worried she'll be banned more often. Keep in mind, though, that she currently has something like a 48% win rate, which is a bit low, so maybe buffs were warranted. I just don't want to see them over-buff her. I feel sorry for Zac mains, and I would hate to see something like that happen to Lux.

That said, the current buffs are very moderate. I don't think it'll have too much influence on gameplay. Maybe a 1% win rate increase, though if more people pick her up after these buffs the win rate will probably drop some.

Even with Morello, you can run out of mana pretty quickly as Lux, especially if you spam abilities, unless you're actively getting takedowns. These changes will allow her to capitalize more on blue buff, I think, rather than Morello, and the shield buff will make support Lux more viable (which I'm looking forward to if she's not banned more).

main reason why she got buff so often is because since hyper nerf w, there is no reason to pick her when a orianna /ziggs do much more

Personally, I would never pick Orianna or Ziggs as support. They lack some of the basic things a support needs (consistent hard CC not linked to an ultimate, and shields/healing that are either strong or affect a large number of players), while Lux fulfills those requirements. I'm very confused as to why people hate her as support, but you're right, that's the only place I'm comfortable playing her. There are better alternatives for mid lane, as of right now.

I don't think these changes will make her comparable to those two in mid lane, though. It's basically just a support Lux buff, by my estimation.

im talking about lux mid , lux sup is trash lmao. main reason of why she is trash is that she doesnt have really good base damage so instead of zyra or bran who have it she have t o build full ap instead of hybrid to get her true power ( i mean zyra rylai + lyandry is enough) while lux need full build full ap (sigstone is a real problem on late game) , its a buff to lux but to late game , not to early midgame

Lux has supportive utility Brand and Zyra don't have. I honestly don't understand the hate for Lux support.

Disregarding mana costs (I know, it's a problem, but I can't calculate that easily), Lux has higher damage per second quality (damage + damage denial) than Zyra, but lower than Brand. Lux also has significantly higher burst potential/denial in an all-in.

Lux isn't meant to be a poke support, as much as Brand and Zyra. She keeps the two laners from taking damage until an all-in opportunity. She can still poke a significant amount, but it's clear here that her all-in is more powerful.

She has the utility required for being a support, and her early-game is not weakened by "low base damage". Just going off base damages, she is easily as strong as either of the supports you mentioned. There is no reason to prefer Zyra or Brand over Lux.

I been saying all along that Lux dropped off hard with movement speed nerf, morello did that long time ago with the ult cdr increase, and then not to long ago with the shield nerf. Lux's old shield would get back to her within a second. new one takes 2 seconds. Plus the old shield would shield for more. 360 base plus 360 base. yes it did not stack, but verses heavy consistent damage. yeah really good. However I feel lux is hitting a good point. I still wish she had some more movement speed, but the q cdr is good. just needs the q to be 10 seconds at max rank like her other abilities. The shield now is in a weird state. I wouldn't be surprised if Riot nerfed her shield. I'm a lux main and even I think its a bit scary... Triple the shield power.... So like her shield now has a 1.05ap ratio........................... Well I'm going to enjoy it while it last hahaha. The mana on the E does need to go down. but not the area. The area was buffed to like 400 some patches ago and has been nice. the mana cost just needs to cap at 100, so that it's not more than her ult. A supportive lux needs it slow.
