RIOT suffered a 21% drop in profits.

That's 1 in 5 skin sales lost . And before moderator locks this thread hear me/us out.

That drop is GAMEPLAY related.

Stop telling us. Start listening to us. Problem solved profits back up.

Gameplay and fun is currently no existent. Interaction is at an all time low. Cheese high burst meta champs are creating an ever more toxic community.

There's the core issue. Fix it and you might see a return in profits.

Oh yeah, totally. There was no other large developments in the gaming community around this same time frame that would have had large impacts on Riot and people spending money on League. Of course not.

Not even the same genre of games and still a revenue drop off from 2.1b to 1.4b in 1 year is 100% due to incompetency and would instantly get most people in executive positions fired.

Well, you can find some articles about how Netflix "lost" to Fortnite. Genre doesn't matter, popularity and spent time does.

Sorry but what? It doesn't matter if It's the same genre or not. Do you think that pokemon for instance only competes with other RPGs in terms of userbase? Do you think that those who play FPS games only play FPS games? People play all sorts of genres and everyone has limited time. So any time a new thing takes is time taken from other stuff. The fact that you think that battle royale games exploding and the MOBA fad finally fading out has nothing to with a decrease in profits shows how little you know about how the industry works as a whole

there are a lot of really bad opinions

aren't we in a tank meta right now?

There's the core issue. Fix it and you might see a return in profits.

Just curious, where did you see they had a 21% drop in revenue?

They could use some more maps. It gets old playing the same map for years ya know? Thats why i like events, it adds something new. Why do they not keep those maps permanent?

source?

That drop is GAMEPLAY related.

its really not, this is more of a G&D thread actually.

source for how you even can prove profits dropped in the first place.

Gameplay and fun is currently no existent. Interaction is at an all time low. Cheese high burst meta champs are creating an ever more toxic community.

some people find it fun, this is entirely subjective.

There's the core issue. Fix it and you might see a return in profits.

lets just say for the sake of the argument, there was a drop in sales. how can you attribute or correlate it to riot not listening? the current meta for gaming is battle royale, all of which came out pretty recently and could cause a decline via less time spent on league.

More games have me hit rock bottom emotionally than excite me. Some of these games are just so snowbally and humiliating, that I don't want to queue up for another most of the time. If my friends leave League, I more than likely would too, as they're the one of the few reasons I play this game, outside of a thread of fond memories for previous seasons and how those were balanced and the amount of fun I used to have.

In the past, in Season 5, trades and team fights were less consequential, and games were drawn out and had suspense up until the end. Win or lose, it was satisfying playing through to the end. Now in season 9, playing a game out feels like an exercise in self humiliation and degredation, it's so humiliating to lose 4 to 38 or whatever these crap scores are that happen often. In the other direction, crushing an enemy 38 to 4 has no excitement or satisfaction, just a quick end and sending myself on my way to another independent game, while this previous victory gave me nothing good besides the W.

I prefer, competitive, close, exciting finishes, like I used to get in Season 5 where the average game time really was around 45 minutes long, because people didn't delete or get deleted in the starting instants of multiplayer interactions.

Seriously, do you see these 5 man jungle invades to get a laner popping off so he can go 11/0/1 by midgame such that our jungler would go afk? Yea, this super-burst meta is horrible and leads to god-awful game experiences, so please pay attention, Riot.

ok... so what you are telling me is that players playing bad lose the game for their team and that the team who gets their players ahead actually win? "I prefer when people were bad and didn't know how to take advantage of their leads and when the early game literally did not matter in the slightest" that is what you are telling me. How about you actually learn to not feed the enemy early on? how about you don't die and then go "it's my turn to kill you now!" when the enemy already backed and got their items and you barely have anything on you? how about you actually learn to earn your late games instead of them being gifted to you?
