I think people would hate Yasuo's wall a lot less if it behaved the way Braum's wall does

Miraweave··35 votes·1,679 views

When a projectile hits Yasuo's wall, it just instantly vanishes.

When a projectile hits Braum's wall, it does whatever it would do when it hits a champion. There's no change for single target projectiles, but things like Karma Q that explode on contact still explode, and so on.

I feel like changing this wouldn't be a particularly big nerf to Yasuo since it only really affects situations where he's against a champion who has an ability like that and is standing close enough to the wall that he gets hit by the detonation, but people would generally hate the ability a lot less since it would behave in a way that makes sense instead of just deleting everything.

Thoughts?

EDIT: And it actually would be a nerf when you consider some abilities, especially AoE ultimates. Effectively blocking a Jinx ult or a Lissandra Q would require you to windwall early instead of using the thing right before the ability hits you.

I hate Yasuo cause of the people who play him. The stereotype is true about 95% of the time.

That all Yasuo players are whiny, toxic little pricks. And as said, it's true about 95% of the time.

I hate yasuo because I hate playing against the champion, I don't even feel he's op or anything. Just terribly annoying.

Exactly, Yasuo isn't OP, and can sometimes actually be underpowered depending from the team composition. He is very balanced, but... He is stupidly annoying. Yasuo's early game is one of the most understimated, and he can snowball really easily. And that can make playing against him extremely frustrating, but extremely rewarding if you manage to suceed.

Another factor that adds to the annoyance for me is that all champs I play that could lane vs yasuo get countered by yasuo (player problem, I know, I'm learning xerath for that). Which is why I don't complain on the forums, I just bitch about him to my friends.

And if Yasuo's windwall was his champion's entire "thing", like Braum's shield is.

Durzaka3 votes

The thing is, Braum is thematically a tank champion. He is taking the hit to save his team mate,

Yasuo is a squishy carry, it makes no sense for him.

But Yasuo isn't taking the hits, the wall is. 90% of the time this wouldn't change anything, and it wouldn't change anything for Yasuo if he was playing properly.

This argument would hold merit if Yasuo couldn't move away from his wall, since he can he could still easily use the wall to block most abilities.

Durzaka1 votes

And THAT argument implies that people will keep wasting abilities into the wind wall once it is already out.

Any abilities that get deleted after the wall is already set is entirely the enemy teams fault for being bad. When it matters for a yasuo is when used reactively.

So he has to use it slightly earlier. If he walls in a reasonable amount of time he'll be fine, the only thing this will change is when he tries to last second block something. Requiring more skill isn't a bad thing.

It'd also help a few odd matchups where wall totally breaks the matchup in an unexpected way. For example, with Diana versus Yasuo, Wind Wall pops the orbs from Diana's shied preventing them from doing damage even though it's a melee range ability. And if any of the orbs get popped this way she can't get the refresh on the shield.

The amount of people who dont know how to read scare me.

Stars Shaper2 votes

Yasuo's wall is built as it because it's a stationary defense and from this comes it's counterplayability while Braum can move with it and hence it's defensive potential is weaker.

Sniper 02 votes

I feel like wind would knock the projectile upwards and therefore would make it invalid. A projectile hitting a wall of ice would still explode on contact. I mean it makes sense conceptually.

So, what you're saying is. You're too damn stupid to bait out a 18-20 second CD so you want to change and nerf it so you can instead just ignore the wall's existence.........get good.

Because slightly nerfing it's functionality against a small number of abilities only when it's used incorrectly makes it so that you can ignore the wall's existence.

Pretty sure that title goes to someone like Yi or Riven who actually have bad teamfight potential. Assuming you're not stupid and picking Yasuo on a team with no Knockups, he's basically "press R, win teamfight" come lategame.

Mazohist1 votes

if the knockup hits their entire team or their carries and ur in range when it happens.

u simplify things far 2 much and in a balanced game this is much harder then u think

Zedex2 votes

This is relying on Yasuo's enemies to be extremely disorganized and to clump into a group for his initiator to help him "press R to win". Assuming you're against complete noobs, you just won the team fight.

Otherwise(which is probably 95% of the time in a serious match) you're against players who are organized. While i agree it is terribly easy for Yasuo to initiate with his tank, onto an enemy carry, there are so many other factors that fall into place with his ultimate. The enemy team's support most likely will exhaust you. Their mage will most likely cc you and focus you. The wind wall only works so well in a singular spot, and as a mobile champion who does well at catching mobile carries, i don't think anyone's going to stand in his wall and shoot their combo into it. I'm not factoring in their tank either. Again assuming you land on the carries, the jungler(or tank, probably both) can stop you too with whatever his kit provides, and most tanks kits have CC which is crucial to stopping any melee carry. All during that time frame in a fight, the carry will probably be shooting you unless you were able to 1 shot him with your initiate. Which isn't easy to due factoring in the enemy team of skilled players.

I'm not saying the guys impossible to play. he does boatloads of damage in a small time frame, which is sort of a key mechanic to the new melee carries now, or so it seems to me. (Fiora's new true damage mechanic anyone? Devourer buff too, I'm looking at you master yi) He can wreck carries and out of position enemies easily. But like the rest of his class, has very little durability.

I'll reword my initial statement anyways, it seems asinine.

He's one of the riskiest fighters in the game.

uhm yasuo's wall is not movable so he has to mover around it while braum has a mobile barrier pretty easy to say why riot did that btw syndra balls bounce off that wall

What Windwall made things dissapear but do damage to allies equal to 25% of the damg and cc a 400 range

But that would just mean that yasuo and braum have the same shield than. How is that champion unique if another champion shares the same ability?

Binxy Prime3 votes

Learn to read, he just wants spells that do AOE damage to hit the wall as if the wall were a target and do their AOE damage around the point of contact.

It would actually have very little gameplay difference, it would just feel a hell of a lot better to not have your shit instantly vanish.

As an anivia main, this would help out slightly. A big part of her damage is comes from being able to hit that Q.

Half the reason people hate windwall is because the rest of Yasuo's kit is already completely obnoxious, it's just icing on the cake.

I still think that they should give his E an actual cooldown at early ranks so that he can't dodge literally every skillshot you throw at them with no real effort.

in pbe everyone thought it would be better to just have the skillshots randomly bounce off the wall. in a random direction
