I do hope Riot realizes Fizz (and other assassins) kit sucks after that SKT vs AHQ game

Even the casters are saying he doesnt work https://youtu.be/5yergHHE5mk?t=31m33s xd

Sure Riot will likely look at Supports and Locket after preseason, but this isnt just a meta problem, they just worried too much about making assassins easy to play against in their update.

Right now all Fizz does is survive lane and then splt push with TP because he cant touch carries, is this really "assassin" gameplay? Building Protobelt for HP and defensive boots to not die and then Lich Bane to push towers?

Honestly when you still have all the time in the world to react to an assassin ult that is a slow skillshot and already hit while the Cho or the 3 item crit ADC does https://i.gyazo.com/cba3db01cfdcda462b873ee5ec0faad3.gif instantly , there is a problem with Riots definition of "assassin".

i dont think fizz is all that bad atm, fighting against tanks sucks ass and some itemization like mids rushing banshes feelsreallybad but thats the same regardless of who you play i think the real problem comes from most assassins having weak early games now that their burst combos are slower

I used to enjoy actually being able to play LeBlanc into teamfights by dipping in and out and dealing decent burst. But now I can't really do that anymore. Come 15minutes, even if I'm fed, I'd rather just split-push with a lich bane and draw attention there so my team can force other objectives...it's just so saddening how hard you fall off now - even when fed. I didn't want to be forced into playing as a gank-assist, kite monster. I just wanted to assassinate and this passive (which is loaded with all my damage, so using multiple skill rotations hardly does much) doesn't allow that anymore. I've literally had a Draven - earlier in the season - facetank my full combo whilst he was autoing my clone and then proceed to kill me afterwards. It's just not rewarding nor practical anymore.

That's where Fizz has an even larger issue. He normally has to wholly commit to fights if he wants to assassinate someone. But he doesn't really have all the tools to dip in and out nor fulfill his job, particularly when adc defensive itemisation, locket and instantaneous heals/shield exist.

I still perma-ban Fizz because he has one of the most annoying kits in the game.

Also, using a purely HP Cho'Gath's ult on a Fizz as a measure of power is like using a fully build Jhin 4th shot-ing a Soraka as a measure of power.

Yes, if you aren't a tank, Cho'Gath is going to F@#$ you up with his ult.

How fast are you playing that gif?

I've only recently started to play fizz, but he can get so absolutely dumpstered laning phase right now it's so bad. Punished for even stepping near minions. I don' understand why cho's ult has the ability to delete faster than any zed could with his, with none of the downsides of being squishy, and not have to worry about getting cc'd (because you've probably already used the active on stoneplate anyways, what's cc going to do, make it so you can't move for half a second, while everyone's attacks bounce right off your skin?)

Fizz is good at the moment in solo Queue. You just have to know how to punish your opponents mistakes, which is harder to do in ProPlay because they make less mistakes. Also note that AHQ had a tanky team. Fizz doesn't need buffs, he's fine right now.

I kind of do feel that that's the direction rito want a assassins to be in. Assassins are bonly ever played in pro play when they are absurdly overpowered (lethality meta with rengar/khazix) And if memory serves me correct, their play was early game pressure, closing out early, or getting screwed into worthlessness late, to where they ended up building tanky late and just having poke.

All these people missing the point, defending Cho's ability to almost 1-shot Fizz with a single button and just rehashing "You have delayed burst on Fizz"..

(Stopped reading when the discussion turned to late game)

But with assassins, isn't the point of them to be the tempo setting early game cockblocks for the bot lane? To try and hold down the carry as long as possible so that they can't get to their late game spikes? I feel like assassin mains want to be able to still 2 shot an adc 40 minutes into the game, when really, you already had your chance to roam and shut them down. By wasting time roaming the jungle looking for flashy kills all game, you lost the advantage. Pretty much deserved to be useless at that point. The point of an assassin in this kind of game should be to stall the carries. Fail that, or fail to capitalize on your advantage (take freaking towers instead of chasing through the jungle) then yeah, feel free to be useless.

Tldr: assassins have plenty of killing power early. There's no reason you should be useful at 40 minutes.

Fizz being in that game forced AHQ to stay together all the time. If any of them got caught alone he'd kill them. That sounds like an assassin to me. What do you want, the assassin to be able to jump into 5 people, get a kill, and escape? In professional play? that would be a joke.

I really think that using Cho'gath as a benchmark in this just invalidates the GIF.

Cho'gath is busted, and one-shots squishies pretty much instantly. Defense>Offense scaling like that can never be healthy. The closest you get to it being healthy is with Sion, who stacks it slowly, has a delay on it (that actually allows you to prevent the damage entirely!), has an incentive to not use it for damage, and just doesn't do that much damage with it.

If you had Fizz against pretty much anyone else - even a different tank - this would have gone very differently.
