Champion Select wrongfully kicked out? @meddler

I was just in champion select with 3 seconds to go and hadn't pick my champion it then just randomly showed everyone left the room and said it was because i hadn't picked a champion? I still had time left so im confused to as why it kicked me out early?

I get if it does that at say 0 seconds and if you haven't locked in but this doesn't make sense to me.
