Dynamic Queue SUCKS

I have been sitting in my queue for the past 12mins. I understand that many people might want my role, but I am in gold 5 there are a larger quantity of people in my elo then there is plat +.

Riot if you wanted people not to lean towards wanting a soloque option maybe not letting your player base extensively wait for a game would be a great idea. I don't remember ever waiting so long last season in a soloque normal games. I don't know if it's because i am a trick champion player but having 12 mins for a normal and ranked is just unreasonable.

It may be that I am going solo? Or that I play one champion? Either way it's totally not appealing to want to queue up when I have to wait for so long. Is anyone else experiencing this or am i just stuck with a low amount of players on at this time?

Solo is alot harder. Im still getting 10 kda's unless I get an off role with an absolute monkey jungler (almost every time) but still losing way more games than I ever would in previous seasons. Dynamic que makes it 10x harder. You basically have to get the good team of players or your games practically uncarriable. Even when smurfing there are way more uncarriable games than before. Apdo had like a 60% win rate on his accounts while playing solo now. Before he would get to challenger with literally 90% win rate-80% win rate. Its not just a coincidence. Hard to win when your toplaner was gold last season and is in diamond now and has to face a challenger toplaner because he is now high diamond dynamic queing. Like you cant do anything lol Only so much you can do vs coordinated groups of players.

Even if que timers are longer, doesn't the concept still benefit you over previous seasons? I'm assuming your one champion is Katarina, which is primary mid, secondary... top? Either way, you're gaurenteed to get your champion, in a role that's she's semi-viable in. Old soloQ, you had to get lucky placement in pick order to get even close to mid lane or top lane, and the lovely people that would go "Not support / Not ADC / No jungle" as 5th pick.

The concept is fine, but in practice there is no point of waiting for a 12 min queue to pop when the game length itself is about 20-25 mins long. There is no benefit for waiting that long, and while you are less likely to get a main position that you like in soloque I don't mind playing Katarina in any role. I don't believe she is restricted to one lane, you can win games and climb with just about anything as long as you improve on a champion.

And in this meta I don't think I have to worry about her being a pick/ban top priority choice when there are far better options out there like zed, corki, lulu, lux etc.

My average gametime is 34 minutes and 13 seconds.

My average queue time is... about 3 seconds, although I haven't bothered timing it.

Meanwhile I que up for support and there isn't even enough time for the animation to play before it finds me a match...

Too bad Riot is literally telling us to deal with it.

They literally don't give a fuck, and they're giving reds 0 tools to react to it being bullshit. Tbh, lying about a fix is almost the only thing they're allowed to do.

They will continue to have this problem until they increase the player count for supports in queue.

Adding a "random" option is the easiest way. But honestly, I doubt they will care until it starts hitting their top line (affecting their revenue, sorry jargon).

It's not Riot's fault that no one queues for support. If everyone selected "fill" as their secondary, the system would be able to put together teams more quickly. As it is, fill 90% of the time equates to support.

But it is Riot's fault. I don't mind supporting, and I did fairly often in the old system (probably around 20% of the time) but I'm damn well not going to play nothing but support, so I never select fill.
