There's no reason to play Kindred jungle when you can lane him.

Kindred is a backline marksman. As such, he needs alot of gold that while you can safely get in jungle, you can get even faster in lane. Even with devourer, there's still no point to play him when he could be farming up an IE instead. Even if none of his abilities scale with AD, his range + dash + base damage and self peel is strong enough to become a top tier marksman. He is also not weak early game, meaning that he can still be a lane bully. It seems like he has short range (400-500) but with his crazy base damage and mobility, he's viable as a bully ADC that still beats melees late game even if he can't duel other ADCs very well (but still can, since he can dash in and get in their face).

So what's the point of putting him in the jungle? Just lane him and get more gold to carry.

Jungle him because he benefits from large monster kills and gets a permanent bonus from takedowns on the marked target, so gank them etc.

But you can get more gold from lane and then just take jungle camps with a coordinated team that picks a farm independent jungler. Also, you can mark mid or the enemy duo lane and still kill them.

I think the ultimate is perfect for tower diving. Would be scary to see a Kindred coming and everyone jump on you and then that zone of no death going down.

On the same token though, it would be good if you were being tower dove on as well.

OK, Kindred main here:Kindred I play both lane and jun so I can explain in depth the difference:

  1. (*him him him him)- them. but since you control lamb and if you want to individualize gender then it's- her. same as Sejuani or Lulu or Nunu or Quinn ... difference is- the name is made for both entities. Would be lame if there was a champ just named lamb, wouldn't it?

  2. Marks: When jungling, mark enemy jungle as soon as the game starts, by the time you're lvl 3 you can change mark according to situation.

jungle- you get first mark almost as fast as it spawns (scuttle) and maybe, invade even. The early power spikes are good to take down enemy jungler who is low hp fighting vs jungle (2 marks BOOM). Try invading the side where scuttle spawned. smart junglers try to contest your first mark if they are early aggro LeeSin Nidalee Jax Rengar

Devourer item 3930 : yes the fact that it procs only every 4 shots sounds bad, but for Kindred that's not really the point. W damage scales off ATT speed, CRIT and marks of the Kindred chance. And the on hit magic damage covers for low base AD, which is nice.

Warrior: item 1400 AD+10% CDR- both useless stats on her early, and jun clear is slower. you need that att speed, bruh. only spell that actually benefit from CDR is W.

My best games were maxing W first. In W you still get Q on 2 seconds, so no point in maxing Q first.

mastery: 12/18/0 thunderlord (duuh. Q procs 2 hits for mastery)

example build (in succession order): item 3930 item 2032 item 3006 item 3153 item 3085 item 3031

should finish game by then: you can swap potions later on to a situational item item 3033 item 3036 (that one pesky tank that won't die).

item 3085 is situational. But i like to have it because i always expect to have atleast 9-11 marks lategame. If it's your not your cup of tea, get item 3142 (armor pen, and active) I sometimes throw it in as last item to swap potions.

Lane: ADC: you don't have item 3930 , rush item 3153 and take summoner 4 summoner 14 best having supp with cc and/or heal.

Marks: you want to mark support first, especially if they are squishy. you bully your lane, and support usually dies first because if you harass adc too much, support might sacrifice himself to save adc, and if you see that supp is smart, you can swap mark.

Botlane you can get 1-3 marks fast (scuttle next to drag or enemy jungler) other than that, rest of the marks are hard to reach and you end up with like 4 by 20 minutes (i get about 7-10 in jungle. freedom of not being pinned down to botlane or any other lane. MiD- second best position because of early roam).

Mastery: 12/18/0 same as jun. build: item 3153 item 3006 item 3031 item 3142 item 3094 item 3046 (sorry, to lazy to explain situational items and what to swap with what. long post TL;DR)

Lane 2:

Top lane: here you can go same way as adc, build wise, but top usually has high sustain high damage champs, so you focus more on staying alive.

Mastery: 12/0/18 (keystone- Grasp of the undying) literally a copy of your w passive vs enemy champs.

off-tank is the only time you build item 3078 because you add item 3053 and that makes base AD bearable for item 3078

build: item 3153 item 3006 or item 3158 item 3078 item 3053 item 3022 last item depends on weather you have the lead or no. options include: item 3156 item 3026 item 3742 item 3091 item 3143 item 3190

TL;DR. easier to carry with Kindred from jungle, because you can grab the lead and snowball hard, and you have quite a few escape/ survivability tools

they put him jungle so they didn't say "here's another generic marksman with no personality and no interesting things except a stupid pet mechanic"

Funkin Dunkin1 votes

Well if they truly want to keep him in the jungle they'll do what they did to Skarner and take away his ability passives and kill his laning that way.

BluePolarizer1 votes

so basically gut him the minute he's released.

Phife1 votes

Her passive is why you jungle her.

BluePolarizer1 votes

why not just take camps when you can and then get stacks from teamfights? its much more reliable to get a fast BoRK/BT/IE than try to farm the jungle and gank with a relatively mediocre ganker.

Phife1 votes

Because devourer.

BluePolarizer1 votes

IE>Devourer though.

Crett1 votes

why not both

Phife1 votes

IF you're playing jungler you have to get a jungle item, theres no doubt about it. Devourer though, scales better and probably works (PROBABLY) with her passive and E.

But getting a devourer doesn't mean i can't get an IE, it just means it will be a little bit later.

DragonSlawr1 votes

you can no longer get devourer with ranged champions

CrazedPorcupine1 votes

you can, it's just not as good as it was before.

The Loveless1 votes

Yeah, I don't see any constant synergy with Devourer, and Warrior is only 45 AD. I think they wanted to make a jungle ADC, and also excuse Morde being a bot laner now.

xInhaleExhale1 votes

Kindred gains %current hp damage on her autos with stacks of her passive, devourer will proc those multiple times. And they can proc the 3 stacks on E faster

The Loveless2 votes

I know that, but I mentioned constant synergy. Devourer was nerfed for ranged champs and only double procs on-hit effects every 4th basic attack now, instead of every 2. Waiting 4 auto attacks for Devourer's passive is horrible when you could be critting or life stealing instead.

InternalBleating1 votes

Completely false.

The marked jungle camps increase Kindreds damage. Jungle is much more efficient.

Let's look at Kindred's kit from a Lane Standpoint:

AoE Damage for Waveclear, Mobility(Albeit expensive), %Max HP damage Soft CC and a Heal. and a huge Utility Ultimate.

Let's look at Top lane for a second. She get's reliable gold, even if starved of gold because of lane swap or other reasons, Kindred still has plenty of utility to help her team win, even when behind. After a gank, she can go with her jungler to counter jungle the enemy and gain passive stacks return to lane, and still be just fine. She has sustain to counter harrass, and decent mobility to get away from ganks. She has AoE damage from her Q so she can clear waves if necessary. Overall, she'll be a higher level and further in items than her jungle counterpart.

Let's look at Jungle. Less gold income, and as a carry jungler, will not be viable in pro play because she can't exert the pressure Elise, Lee Sin, Rek'sai or Gragas can as junglers. Counterjungling is incredibly risky without your team or knowledge of where the enemy jungler is, meaning you run the risk of feeding the enemy team in an attempt to get stacks. You have a heal to help offset the damage in the jungle, but you are incredibly weak to jungle invades and duelists.

Overall, I see Kindred better as a top laner than a jungler. Her kit is just too good to be left to rot in the jungle.

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

I think its more than that. Unless you're playing with a Morde bot lane, you're weakening your team comp by putting two adcs on the team that the other three members need to protect.
