Oppressive supports

Certain support/adc combos have as much CC as an entire team. With no tenacity items available early, you're basically stuck running away once they reach level 3 unless they do a ridiculous mistake.

Alistar Thresh Leona Blitzcrank Nautilus Morgana Vayne Ashe Jinx

Various combinations of these versus, say, Graves Nami , if either laner gets initiated on the eternal cc-lock 2v1 begins. Once the CC duo gets ahead in gold, they can practically 2v3 and bully them to the inhibitor.

Anyhow, I was thinking maybe everyone should either have innate tenacity at low levels or many knock-ups/stuns should scale and be less potent on their initial skill point. It really sucks being completely outclassed in combat where your stuck for 10-15 minutes.

I can't help but notice you left out Blitzcrank, whose very presence oppresses you, even if he misses everything. And it seems like you just sort of have a problem with cc in general. Anyway, these supports are just working as intended. If you're having problems against them just get jungle support or something. They aren't unbeatable (though Vayne certainly feels that way sometimes)

I could add a number of champs and I guess I'll include the crank. I don't believe in pressuring the jungler to help my lane because it often doesn't work out.

  1. They just aren't a jungler that likes dealing with bot lane, it's a devastating loss if enemy jungler counter initiates.

  2. You ask for help and they come at a terrible time and blame you.

  3. They over camp the lane, which sometimes helps you, but it also hurts their farm and presence in other lanes that have no CC escape.

I do have a problem with CC in the early game. Certain abilities are just brutal, especially knock ups, because regardless of your position they give the opponent a long ass time to make plays off of them. Other mechanics, specifically Alistars head butt, lock you in CC when you hit a wall until the "travel time" is completed which is much longer than you hitting the wall.

Ya, you gotta play passive until their supp misses their CC, then you go aggressive on them until the CD is back up. Unfortunately, once Leona and Thresh hit 6 they have a new option even if they miss hook/zenith, and Alistar only misses if he screws up on his own. Better to play passive and fight under turret the whole laning phase if they're good.
