Who beats Ahri?

Ben SwoIo··4 votes·2,392 views

I'm having a HARD time beating this lame ass champ. Every time I face one, all they do is constantly shove the wave mindlessly and fish for that ONE charm that leads to me being deleted. Past 6 it's like forget it, she just clicks R and dashes to safety. That or she R's to safety then R's back in then R's back out after getting a kill. It's ridiculous.

I would rather not rely on jungle ganks (which for some reason NEVER happens for me) so I'd like to know, what's a good reliable way to beat people who play this stupid champ? I'm willing to open up my champ pool to a new champ so I can beat people who play this very annoying champ.

Rofl. Galio's still a relevant pick? I wouldn't mind an anti-AP mid laner.

Zed item 3155 item 3111 is a much better counter for any AP champion.

Do people still believe that zed beats mages?

Over 100k Mastery Ahri player here - Ahri actually doesn't have much trouble dealing with that, since it sets him pretty far behind on damage and the return on her Q ignores true damage, and she'll run sudden impact and Sorcs to ignore more of it.

HP is a much more effective counter to her than rushing Hexdrinker+Mercs, imo. Someone having Hexdrinker hasn't made me miserable, but someone having a RoA definitely has.

Lol I'd rather deal against someone who is Immobile but has ROA then Zed , even if I do high iq challenger plays against him and dodge everything and all , he will end up surviving on low HP and running away While I have cooldowns I played the Ahri vs Zed match ups like tons of times ( I have like 650k on Ahri and Zed is the mid laner I face the most next to Yasuo ) But a good Zed will never rush Hexdrinker anyway , he'll just go with Dirk and his usual build

Eh. Might just be personal preference then.

If I'm against Zed, I at least feel I have a chance. I know for a fact I'll never win lane against anyone with RoA because I just don't have the damage, but against Zed I at least feel opportunities to beat him.

Might all just be because I'm bad at roaming tho lmao.

I'd sure rather to face Zed than Anivia Anivia is kind of squishy and might be killed in lane but , later she crazily outscales Ahri so at that stage of the game I'd rather to play against Zed But the issue with Zed is laning , good Zeds are really hell

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Ain't that the truth. A good Zed can be hell, for sure.

Anyone who can build RoA makes her suffer, in my experience. Malz, Morg, TF...If they can build RoA, she hates dealing with them, since she has basically no kill pressure against them. She does better against people who have to opt into MR instead of HP due to her Q's return doing true damage.

And, obviously, anyone with innate spellshields or other ability to ignore her E will do well, since she generally needs E to kill.

Damn, I play a lot of Malzahar but I never thought to pick him against her because of how slow and immobile he is. How the hell does Ziggs counter her? I'd play him again but he seems like he'd get bursted.

MrFawknSunshine1 votes

you dont play ziggs to beat ahri per say...

you play ziggs due to range and clear and you can use his bombs for aoe slow and his explosive pack to help escape or slow ahri

ahri is mid range mage/fighter she cant get close enough to ziggs if you play the wave/lane right and position using his range

think of it like caitlyn using her superior range vs short ranged adcs

Malzahar is my perma ban regardless of what midlaner i play. It doesn't matter that he is immobile because he is one of the best champs to shut someone down.

Malzahar existence forces players to gank less, or he will heavily damage the tower in just 1 wave and gain free gold off of it cause of tower plating (losing Mid lane tower is also a big deal compared to bot/top towers).

Forces players to burn 1300 gold on item 3140 (a item that has no final build for ap champions) or die just cause of how easy it is for him to click R on someone so the rest of the team (or jungler in laning phase) can focus that player down.

Then there is his reliable late game damage after he gets enough items.

I'm not saying he is broken, just a very annoying champion that i can't be bothered to deal with anymore unless I'm playing 5 man Flex, cause I can't trust the solo Q monkeys to be careful when Malzahar is in the game.

Also incase you're not already doing this: Do not use your Voidlings till the enemy mid laner uses their wave clear spell, that way they don't get one shot and can tear through the minions for you.

Statistically she has a negative lane kill rate against more than half of mid laners when I checked last time

It sounds crazy, but you can just play Garen mid against her. Build merc treads and other mr items as needed. Wait til she blows her charm, then run at her and punish with your silence.

What about when she has her stupid ult up? Dash dash dash away. Or back into the fight if her jungler shows up.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Her ult has a cooldown that's now actually pretty significant in lane, so even if she does ult away it won't save her. She also has nothing to defend herself once you land Q.

You also can ignore most of her burst with proper W timing, by using the tenacity to negate most of the CC and the damage reduction to ignore the burst, especially since she generally wants to cast Q right after E lands, so that you can't break free of charm first.

Even if you never kill her she will never be able to kill you unless she runs AD or goes Tear, because she'll just run out of mana before you finally die.

HeresyHorus1 votes

Just play ad mids and plow her good.

Camille is a hard counter to her safety her ult + she got passive shield + a massive dash that does damage, gives atk speed and stuns.

Kled, Irelia, Riven multiple instant dashes, CC and sustain.

Zed is Zed.

Avoid her charm with Lucian\Corki\Vayne\Kindred instant dashes and proceed to make minced meat out of her.

Good ap mids against her:

Fizz, Leblanc, vlad (she cannot prevent u from outscaling her), ekko (a bit of skill needed tho), azir (lot of skill needed, u can avoid here stuff but she can avoid ur's easily too)

Small Boobs Ahri1 votes

Zed Annie Ekko Fizz Kassadin Zed Malzahar Lissandra

There are a lot of things to piss Ahri off, it's her early weakness, that's when you have to give it all if you don't want her to snowball after her level 6 - 9
