i have a terrible view on the game currently so maybe im not the best giver of advices but here anyways
i forget when it was that i cared about this game but i won all of my placements i had been checking op.gg to get an idea what rank i would get and i saw i was playing with plat players. then by the end of my placements some diamond players in my game. even having won all of them it gave me silver. i was pretty disheartened at first having to beat diamonds just to get silver(pretty shitty design riot, even if it is the start of the season) but i kept playing because i wanted to prove to myself i could, and i ended up winning around 17 in a row i think. i started losing a few. won a few. but i still wanted to improve so i climbed to gold 1. got to my plat promos and someone trolled my first game and i realized what being plat meant.
i think at this point my ego built up a lot, and i started to care more and more about what my rank was, rather than to just be good. i was mad i lost a game already to something i could do nothing about, and felt a little desperate to win the next games. i failed my promos, which did have a lot to do with terrible players, i think also had to do with how losing to something i couldn't change affected my mental state in the rest of my games. maybe the next few games my team wasn't that good and thats why we lost, but its not the only reason we lost. looking back i think i definitely could have won the next games.
terrible players getting to you definitely has an effect on your next games whether you can feel it consciously or not.
eventually i lost interest completely in getting better at all (mostly due to reworks and rune changes). so after losing quite a bit of games and deranking i just stopped playing seriously at all and quit ranked because i know most people do care.
if your issue is terrible players and not your skill and u still care about climbing. then do it. its all in your head and your letting the losses get to you. not everyones the same but taking breaks really doesn't do anything for me. it works for some people because they cool their head and realize their determination. just regain your determination and you'll be fine.
if you lose 10 more after that your accounts fucked
if you actually need to get better what works for me in any game is i watch a lot more than i play. not just 1 person but everyone so you see every style of play, every role. because its likely your missing half of the game and tunneling on 1 style and will end up putting yourself in a group of people determined by main roles and will have those r%%%%%ed fights people have like "BUFF ADC, NERF ADC, BUFF BRUISERS". and you'll actually understand every role and realize that all of that is crap.
i got into league from watching Trick and it developed my skill to go for the base anytime i saw an opening. eventually i started watching everyone but being a bad player at first, just tunneling on one style, i missed easy teamfights that could have lead to games won. but with that knowledge i got from Trick, that i find to be extremely lacking in players today, i see so many missed opportunities from other players to just take free turrets instead of running bot and dying because they thought the fight was important. Voyboy seems to have a really good concept of the game so u could probably learn a lot of everything from him but i haven't watched him that much so i don't know for sure.
you don't have to watch anyone and just play if u want but basically if somethings not working, then fix it. if grouping up 5 mid and running it down because its the 20 minute mark doesn't work then maybe don't do that every game. splitting is very important and can be done by any role. part of my 17 game winstreak was just support voli running it down while everyone ignores me because im the support i guess i don't know what goes on in their tiny brains. definitely more of a low elo thing but plat is low brain elo.
and once u get better you have to play with the mindset that your better than the enemies in low elo, because you are, and exploit their flaws. that applies to any game.
