Just to make kills slightly more rewarding, I can think of a few reasons they put it there.

So assassins that don't lose much health when killing people can have some usage out of it is one. Not that the extra 2 creeps worth of gold is going to amount to much unless they are racking up lots of kills.

It's a way to give the user more reward for claiming a kill. And if you don't get the kill credit itself, it makes the Assist less punishing. If all it did was heal you, the rune wouldn't have much use inside of 1v1 lanes or near-instantaneous kills where you don't take damage/sustain through it. Triumph would be useless on Assassins, any comp with a Sona in it, or on anyone except ADCs, if it didn't reward something else.

Idk but it's really good on tanks or whatever you call big blobs of hp. That's %missing hp heal (which is better the more hp and resists you have) and +20g on assists

I like it, you forgo more damage or utility from other runes to just throw down the gauntlet with triumph and say "I'll kill you without that stuff" and triumph gives you a bonus if you succeed
