Aye ralanr, dr sona is right. The dorans blade point is a good point seeing as juggernauts and fighters can make good use of it into certain matchups (particularly tanks). Dorans shield isnt a tank item, and while I agree it could use a tiny bit of love, it'd be wrong to call it a tank item. The dorans items are starter items. Dorans shield is for lane survivability, nothing more or less, and it isnt class specific.

I know it's hard to imagine, but basic attacks are super important in every lane, not only in melee vs ranged top lane matchups.
