Trying to learn and get to 30, why am I against challenger players?

Hi, I'm trying to learn league and get to 30 so I can play ranked with a friend who is silver but I'm always getting dumpstered by diamond, master, and yes, challenger players who have all the runes and champions in the game.

I have like 3 champions and half a page of ap runes.

What am I doing wrong?

My friend told me to get LSI and it says what level they are, that's how I know.

Enjoy the beginner experience we all knew and hated. Legit ass pounding.

Okay so if anyone has actually looked at the match he is talking about you'll notice something peculiar. His team is all below level thirty while their team is plat4+.

Now that's some bullshit.

Your MMR is very, very high. Game MMR 2135: You're playing with master players It'll go down eventually, and it'll be somewhere around bronze-gold :p

ModKnightsKemplar1/8/2016, 10:15:56 PM3 votes

Welp, your MMR must be very high for a <30 level player. Good on you.

And yeah, lower level matchmaking is terrible. Hopefully the new champ select will fix some of that with the changes to the way parties work? Maybe? I dunno.

Op has some next level bait in this thread. He is a smurf. Look back at his earliest matches and from day one he has amazing cs for a 'new' player. Hell most people even know what minions are good for much less how to last hit properly.

Must admit you had me going for a minute though! haha

Take on the challenge and thank Riot.

The matchmaking is broken. You're not doing anything wrong. The matchmaking just throws random people together and hopes for the best. I'm silver and I fight plats and diamonds all the time. It's just how it works; there's no other explanation.

If you're getting matched with players of that rank, it might be mean you're skill level is comparable to theirs and you should actually take it as a HUGE compliment! That is, if it isn't just the matchmaking system being wonky... Benefit of the doubt, TAKE IT AS A COMPLIMENT :)

Trídent1/9/2016, 5:07:30 AM1 votes

Dang, that's crazy. I think its a combination of the fact that pre 30 match making is bad and that the system thinks you are a smurf, because of your skills, such as that impressive CS score. I'm pretty sure you're a lot more skilled than I am. :) This is insane O.O I've heard of pre 30s against plats and stuff, but challengers?! O.O

I've played against a couple of master tier players. pretty cool

I've been playing on again off again for awhile now, had no idea that you could get third-party info about who you're going up against. Played a lot of HotS before getting back into this game, and man, this experience is downright evil in comparison. There is next to nothing about facing bots that prepares you for facing people, and some of the attitudes I've seen in matches would make even Spock want to smack the hell out of them.

Riot took inspiration from Super Smash Bros. They bring a whole new meaning to the phrase "A New Challenger is Approaching!"

RyzeRework1/9/2016, 3:29:38 PM1 votes

If your saying theres smurfs in your game there mostly bronze players theres only like 50-100 people who are challengers I kinda doubt they would be playing norms because the fact that if ur not playing u can lose challenger spot

Sorry you have to deal with the early level shit. Soon it should balance out, you'll probably get stuck in some elo hell, and then it'll be fine.

If you watch high elo streamers, a lot of them are really helpful for learning the advanced strategies.

I have to agree with what I believe is the underlying premise of playing against way over-ranked opponents. If you know that is occurring you can look at it as a learning experience, however, at the time when you believe the queue worked, you are thinking you suck. The worst part is when you have an over-ranked teammate telling you "you suck". They believe, apparently, that you have the same knowledge, experience, and skill (supposed) they do. Maybe Riot should make a "rec" league for people who just want to smash things or are still trying to find the right champion? just a thought. I know one of my sons is constantly freaking out that I am not better than I am but I have a higher level. It's merely from time in the game. I know I will never be a "challenger" but I like to play, to have fun and usually to relax. But I try not to be a detriment to the team and so sometimes go outside my ability/knowledge to fill a gap on the map. This usually backfires but no one has told me how to help and not feed when the enemy pushes my lane. sorry for the off topic tirade at the end here. still a rec league would be great for people to just play silly characters and try new lanes or roles.

I had the same issue 4 years ago.

m8, you're famous. You got a match vs LilyPichu.

This game's matchmaking is hilariously bad and has been for a long time. You're not doing anything wrong. This is normal.

Because sometimes you just have to learn the hard way.

You'd be surprised how many high-elo players just straight up ragequit whenever they get their asses handed over to them.

Oh well, we've all been there, it's just the nature of multiplayer competitive gaming since the day of its inception.

THERE IS NO WAY YOUR VSING CHALLENGERS. maybe plat or low diamond but there is no way your vsing challengers not even masters unless they have got that rank by playing ranked 3's challenger is easy to get.

I've found match ups to be particularly wonky in TB these days--my advice would be to stick to draft queue, since blind pick and TB tend to have a lot more casual players. In TB, players tend to value coordination and team comp a lot more, and the behaviour of players is more tolerable in general.

How da heck, did Rito put ya against Challenger players?

Edit: http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=amara

Apparently on op.gg your mmr for normal games is already over 2k, which is considered diamond elo....damn. Somehow the game considers U a smurf or something. Did U come from another moba? Like even when I watched streamers level up new accounts, their mmr usually flattens out at around 1.6k-2k cause they play in stacks (not sure if that has anything to do with it).
