Melee vs Range Matchup in ARAM

This happend to me every time when I play ARAM. I'm on a team with melee champions. It's just impossible to siege with a comp like that. Can't riot include a filter on this random system so you actualy can have a decent team comp.

If you've got melee champs, pull back under your tower, then engage hard on the enemy team as soon as they come forward. Most people who lose with all melee or low poke teams lose because their response to being outpoked is to hide behind their tower until their health refills, which normally ends with them taking turns getting picked off.

Well you are kind of screwed when you have lots of champions with bad/no engage Though there is always flash/ghost/Horn to catch up to them

But yeah melee teams often win if the range team isn't able to kite and poke them

I'll admit there are some harder matchups. But for every ten melee versus ranged matchups, eight of them the melee champs are going to have some good engage/hard CC, because most melee champs who aren't assassins have engage/hard CC. And of those remaining few truely lopsided matchups, its often because someone in the lobby saw their team had low CC, and then decided to reroll the strongest CC champ on the team. Which is fine, you're allowed to reroll if you really want, but I often see 'good' champs rerolled in the hope of getting 'fun' champs, which tends to result in a loss.

This is absolutely true, though it still comes down to 2 problems:

  • to engage a fight and win it you have to play together as 5 with proper teamwork, while for poking it´s enough if everyone just plays for himself - so outside of premade-aram it´s much more likely that the poke-comp wins than that the melee-comp finds enough teamwork to overcome their lacking of range
  • disengage is just to easy in a map without flanking, all you can do is run onto them from the front...which is just too easily countered, there should be some sort of passages that allow you to go around your opponents, or tps, or jumppads...anything that actually gives you a possibility to start an attack from several directions

This is what makes aram so interesting, you never know what youre gonna get. Trying to find ways to make it work=fun most of the time for me. If you cant make it work(or even come close) just look forward to the next game.
