Let's talk Rek'Sai builds

Alright, I've been playing Rek'Sai on PBE and I am anxiously awaiting her release on live.

In the meantime, who wants to talk about how to build her?

Early core is typical AD jungle: Stalker's Blade and Bilgewater Cutlass for 2 slows, plus boots. When it comes time to upgrade the boots I am still sort of undecided, but I've been going for Mobility to help me get into position for ganks or at the beginning of a fight. Alternatives include Swiftness for more speed in general, and Mercury's Treads for CC-heavy teams.

Late game I am partial to Trinity Force for a few reasons. Without any AP, Prey Seeker does minimal damage. (It still does crap damage even with the AP from TF, but at least you can actually see their HP bar move.) The movespeed and slow help you stick to targets. And the bit of crit boosts you up to a non-zero amount. (If I buy any more crit items it won't be until much later.)

Then, of course, the Cutlass gets upgraded to BotRK for more stickiness, damage, and lifesteal. And Stalker's Blade gets upgraded to, usually, Warrior enchant, though Devourer is an option if I want to focus on farm.

Beyond the core of TF/BotRK/Stalker's/boots I'm really not sure. Candidates include Bloodthirster and Infinity Edge, with a situational defensive item in the last slot.

Any thoughts on my build, or builds of your own?

From what I saw of watching OddOne Play her on the PBE she is fairly effective as a 2-3 damage items and 2-tank items. Generally 2-AD/3-Tank. Personally I am going to try Devourer/Hydra for decently high mixed damage, especially with her Q. Work in a Spirit visage, prolly an omen and the last item will be match dependent. More of a tanky-on-hit Rek'sai, that transitions into a teamfight bruiser.

I don't think straight AD is a good way to go. I mean, it could work if you have a tank top or a tank mid, but otherwise you won't be able to initiate. Keep in mind, Rek'Sai has no damage mitigation.

I've been playing her with Hydra, Black Cleaver, and then full tank in the top lane to some degree of success. I won't know until she's live if it's actually a good build or if the wacky matchmaking system on the PBE is to blame.

I'm not part of the PBE, but I'm a big jungler and pretty excited by her kit. I just ran her using Nocturne's (my main) and it was completely ineffective, so I'm here. I've got some good ideas as far as her item build now, as well as masteries. Anyone have rune recommendations?

My thoughts are AD marks, Scaling Heath seals, and scaling Cooldown Glyphs. Opinions? Adjustments?

Or AS marks, Armor seals, either Cooldown or MS Glyphs, and AD quints. (I don't know much about building my own rune pages for new champs)

Anyone gonna point out sightstone as a good item? Provides the vision you lack in burrow, helps your team and provides tank.

I've noticed that the following build is pretty good

Stalkers Blade w/ Devourer - Boots of Your Choice or one of the three ( Berserkes ,Tabis or Mercurys ) - Blade of the Ruined King - Randuins/Spirit (depends on enemy team) *NOTICE If you previously bought Randuins then buy Spectre's Cowl AND if you bought spirit previously then buy Warden's Mail - Youmu's Ghost Blade (if enemy's are underfed and you need to fast push or fast teamfights) and if you need to survive teamfights or one vs one's then buy Trinity Force - and finally finish of your Spirit Visage/ Randuins Omen

Also a little tip :

  • In teamfights try to completely avoid the frontline by using your E to get to the backline and kill/distract it
