What are your thoughts on support Orianna? I am enjoying it pretty well myself, but haven't tried it in any ranked games.

I play a lot of Support Orianna and is my go to support (I have my level 5 mastery with her). She doesn't excel all that well early game, but she scales really well into the late game for most supports Her Q only really requires that 1 early point in it. It's used as a ward, which I don't think any traditional supports have. Sometimes, you can use it to pseudoward the bot lane river bush. Also, the Q is used to line up ults and W's. But, what the hardest part about the Q is is using it to deny CS to the enemy ADC. It's hard to line up the ball correctly to deny CS, but if done correctly, it ruins the enemy ADC's farm and delays the powerspike. It is, however, mana intensive, and requires a lot of practice. Her W is used primarily as a speed up. Just use it on a teammate with the ball and they run a bit faster. The W isn't very useful until it gets a few points in it, but it shouldn't be maxed first. Because it's Ori's mana drain, it's not really efficient to Q it in and then W. That's a lot of mana. It's good to use to harass someone standing next to your ball when it's warding the bush for you, but even then, it drains mana quickly, so be careful. Her E is the skill to max. When leashing for your jungler, use it on them to get them the shield AND a bit of damage to the monster. It's really nice because the E, I found, has a really quick cast time if it's on your target. So it's really good at blocking quickly. In addition, the shield is undoubtable the strongest shield accessable to supports. It boasts a passive that increases armor and magic resist, so it's possible to get an ADC Graves who gets 100+ armor and MR in lane. As you probably know, just attack that ball to your buddies and W and then watch them initiate. Her R, though, I still have trouble hitting it successfully. The delay kills me. People flash out or barely move. But, the utter utility of Shockwave is amazing. Use it to stop that Udyr from chasing down someone (I've done that before). Slam it down to keep a team locked down for that extra time. Use it to set up an amazing Yasuo ultimate (by far one of her best synergies). Wombo combo that tanky initiator of yours, they initiate, you stop them from running with that ult. It does, however, have a scaling mana cost and is hard to hit. Support Ori, in all her goodness, has that high skill floor and cap that makes her hard to learn. I have had to play at least 1 game of her per day I play League to stop my skills from deteriorating. Not to mention that it took at least 20 games to get her mechanics down. On the plus side, I can play mid Ori rather well now. Ori's able to be a support because she's a utility mid, so she doesn't scale like a support. Support Ori's late game presence is very large for a support, but her early is rather weak. Ori scales well with either all in ADCs or sustain ADCs. She does well with Quinns (or did she become a top laner?)and Vaynes, and well with Graves and Ezreal, so she is really applicable to most team comps. Outside of bot lane, she does really well with CC heavy initiators like Amumu and Malphite, and REALLY well with Yasuo. I've landed 5 man ults that Yasuos (Yasui, Yasuen?) then ult into and wreck the enemy. All that being said, Ori isn't really the support as much as her ball is. The ball is who does all the work, so Ori is really just a really squishy champion who has to hide behind her team because her ball's doing the supporting. For that reason, Ori is a backline support, more like Soraka (who used to be my main before her rework) than a frontline like Braum. My usual Support Ori build is item 3069 item 3190 item 2045 item 1001 (usually Ninja Tabi or Merc Treads) item 3110 and another item, usually item 3026 . And let's not forget item 3364 . This gives support Ori some meat to her body to be able to stand up to enemies. The Talisman of Ascension is really strong right now (even though I've always built it on her) and its active synergizes with her W and her synergy to initiators. The Locket provides that aura which synergizes with that E (both the active and passive). Sightstone is a given on supports. My boots are situational. I stay away from Mobi boots for some reason. I just don't like them, but don't let that stop you from getting them. Frozen heart provides a ton of mana to fuel your spells with, and even more CDR to boot. As mid or support Ori, it is vital that you reach that 40% CDR cap. Utility mages love that. So, Frozen heart completes the CDR. The last item is really up to the user. I usually don't take another active use item because I can only efficiently manage 3 at once, but if you think you can manage a Randuin's, or even a Blade of the Ruined King for the AA damage and the slow, then all power to you. I usually grab that Guardian Angel because teams usually have mixed damage I lke to migitage for myself because I'm squishy. Zeke's Herald is another possible pickup if I have an AD heavy team. Of course, my build is flexible. Hilarioiusly, I pick up a GA as an item and rarely ever die. As for an elixir, I choose the Elixir of Iron item 2138 because it's my favorite and it helps with Ori being that frontline support your team sometimes need. And your ball gets really big. As for skins, I have TPA Ori (which is awesome when you support a TPA Ezreal) and whatever-the-name-of-that-skin-Poro-Ball-Ori skin. My favorite is the Winter skin, because of the ball. I guess I have another one, but I never use it. You know, I don't even know what I was rambling on about, if I was trying to be instructive, or just showing off. Regardless, I like Support Ori, but she isn't exactly the easiest support to play or the most role-defined. She takes a lot of skill to play, but makes up for it with utility. EDIT: before I forget, that Kalista Support Ori synergy isn't as good at it sounds. The double ult wombo combo doesn't work. Kalista's ult pushes them out of ult range, so Ori ults nothing.

It's fun, but it's not exceptionally strong. If you get good at it, you can do well but she scales more like a carry than a support so you won't be doing a lot of damage or shielding for much.
